Don't worry. We will obviously be reporting the bumps status at Sundown ad nauseam. I might consider Wa Wa if the bumps are reported as being really really good. Hard to justify driving 2 hours for a night session if the bumps are on par with Sundown's for which I have a pass and is only 25 minutes away. Not going to burn a day trip to go there either (no offense of course), as I can get to Hunter or Beast in 2 hours.

This account is from Atomic Jeff on PASR..I'm Doug by the way..lol for those who don't know..I want alot more corny bumps next season..

I slept in, skipped my last class before spring break so I could finish writing a paper, which I finished at 10am....handed it in, picked up my pay check, stopped at the bank, went home, and was en route for the boot at 10:56am...pulled in at 11:25am and started skiing FRESH CORD at 11:30.....there was still fresh cord at 1:30! The snow was freaking PERFECT. It doesn't get any better then that in the spring, imo. mad hero snow. challenge was all cord on the right side, nice and soft. razors was a little more beat up, but still fresh cord on the right, and you could rip the biggest GS arcs down the whole trail thats how smooth it was. no gapers out today...just some race kids and some jib honks. I did 7runs by the time doug got there, and we did the bumps 5 times. doug can freakin RIP in the bumps. I was shocked...He got several corn face shots. After several bumps runs and lots of freakin ripping i was getting tired around 25 runs, doug's like stay for a few more....and after getting to 30 i was like eh wtf, so i ended up skiing 40 runs for 42320 vert, which is my best ever. the snow was just freakin perfect, and nobody was there. One of the top 5 days of the season, fo sho.

There is no reason anyone should drive to Wa for bumps. If you look at the WA map find 10th Mtn. Trail and the words "Mtn. Trail" is pretty much exactly the size of the bump field.

WTF? GSS - how old are you again? 28, right? I just like to keep pointing that out...

Austin posted this vid of the bumps and they look pretty good to me:

Sounds like that's about the extent of them though, eh?

WOW DO I FREAKIN RIP!!!!111!!1!!1

Anyway, the bumps were very nice that day, by far the best of last season. They are very short but at least have some pitch to them. Everything below them on the mountain is flat so you can just cruise back to the chair without really turning to save energy. IMO the bumps at Wawa really aren't that bad, people just like to say they are horrible because they can't ski them. They can get wicked troughs which makes them very challenging to ski, but they are doable and there is usually at least one very good line through. I can't ski them when they get like this, but to a good skier they are just fine.

...and I will defiantly try to make it down to Sundown one night this season.

Edit: Back to the topic:

15 Wawa
10 Cannon
5 MRG
5 Jay
7 Chic Chocs
10-20 other touring days in NE
1 Sundown
2 Sunapee

(Maybes)
20 or so out west during Christmas break
20 or so out west touring (mid-may to mid-june)

My estimate right now is for 80-100 days.

Stupid spell check. Sadly I think I have spelling it that way for the past year or so. :dunce: I'm majoring in Engineering so you really can't expect much better out of me.

(My guess is there are at least 5 grammatical errors in the last paragraph and possible a spelling error or 2)

...there were probably a few in that one too.

Yup that's the whole thing. Like Austin said they are on probably the second steepest trail on the hill and have a nice pitch. It's just a really short course. Nice run btw . . .

I'm going to try to make it out CT sometime this winter for Wednesday night bumps. I'm sure we'll be out visiting with the inlaws in Southbury. Maybe I can hitch a ride with Grassi . . . ?

Yeah, I know you mentioned you had relatives down this way. That would be cool. Perhaps we should have a "Massachusetts night" at Sundown this season! madskier6, Zand, Austin, MRGisevil and wa-loaf! :spread:

I'm surprised how many people go all the way out west for 3-5 days of skiing..go for a full week or 8 days...leave on a Saturday and return on a Sunday...and use 5 vacation days..that's the way to do it..what what..

I Fly out late on a Wed/Thur, Ski thur, fri, sat, Sunday, red eye home 4 days of skiing and back to work on Monday. Flight home sucks, but oh well. Just a couple of 24+ hour days.

Days on Snow?

I'm shooting for 100 non-weekend days, since I am retired. Most will be at Snowbird and Alta for which I already have an "Alta-Bird" season pass (both are about 20 minutes away from where I now live). I also want some time at Powder Mountain, Snowbasin, Solitude, Brighton, The Canyons, and Park City. Each of those areas has some nice features that make them interesting and fun to visit. I will also go there when I have visitors from the east who are looking to experience some different areas.
