What are you running?

On my BB 9700:

InterWeb Radio: Slacker and Pandora.

Weather: WeatherBug: Free edition. Love how the phone has a new message alert whenver the NWS has some type of advisory/watch/warning posted.

Google Maps: This is slick for navigating. It's not turn by turn, but following the purple line is easy enough. The only thing I don't like; the map on the screen is always north.

BlackBerry Maps: Had to unlock this since AT&T "hides" it so you use that TeleNav for $10 a month. BB Maps isn't as crisp as Google Maps, but it has a few things Google doesn't: Dashboard: Displays speed, compass heading, street name that you're currently on and # of stats the GPS is pulling from. Also, you can set it so the top of the map is the direction you're heading.

Viigo: This is a sweet little RSS program. I also get podcasts on it. It has a weather section and a travel section too. RIM recently bought them, so the next update should be pretty good.

Google Sync: For my calendar and contacts. Syncs wirelessly so no plugging in.

Poynt: Kinda like Yelp, but more advanced and a slicker interface.

Yelp: Nifty when when traveling.

CardStar: This allows you to input any store or discount card in and it displays the barcode. You can allegedly scan that instead of the card at the register. I just got this...have to try it out.

Huh, that sounds WAY cool. I hate carrying all those things around. I wonder if they have it for the iPhone? Will have to check at home later.

I've got all the standard stuff on my iPhone. WeatherChannel, Bloomberg, NPR, MLB Lite (I still don't like the idea of paying for the full app), NY Time, iMapMyRun, DirtyProduce, Sol Free, Facebook and a bunch of others I rarely use.

I believe they do.

I've read some reviews on the BB version and some people are having mixed results. I guess the screen glare causes trouble for some barcode readers. I'll have to try it out and see.

I have a really cool app called RedLaser
It scans bar codes and tells you about the item and where to find it and how much it costs...

It's pretty cool....

Just downloaded CardStar and RedLaser. Both look way cool. CardStar seems like might be some issues with certain places scanning it, but only one way to find out. RedLaser is just an outstanding idea. Can't wait to use it!

Let me know if CardStar works. That RedLaser app seems cool.

I'm enjoying the Couch to 5K app. Much easier than having to keep track of the times and I can use my own music. I've found podcasts before for the C25K but you, obviously, had to use whatever music they selected.

What wasn't clear? This is an iPhone app but I'm using it on my iTouch. It's for the Couch to 5K running training program (which I'm doing again to ease back into running, even though I swore off running after my back problems this winter). It works with the music I have on my iTouch so I don't get stuck with a podcast instead that is someone else's music.

I don't have the phone yet (droid) but soon I'll be able to scan a barcoded VIN plate, send it to my desktop which will pre-fill all the info needed to do an appraisal for a trade in. Friggin amazing stuff that will save sooooooo much time.

I'm not sure how I ever survived without Google Maps on my Blackberry. Now that I'm driving between KMart and Massholia quite a bit, the integrated traffic report graphics have saved me a ton of traffic jam angst. The app kind of sucks and locks up my Blackberry for minutes at a time with the spinning-clock-of-death icon. I'm upgrading it from 3.2.0 to 4.0.2 now.

It's a cool program. Try unlocking BB maps. It's got a neat "dashboard" feature and your heading on the map is always up. I find that helps a lot when using it while driving.

I only use BB maps when I'm calibrating my speedometer. I like Google way better. I just wish I could push routes from my PC to my Blackberry.

On my Droid:

Productive Stuff:
Astro File Manager
Advanced Task Killer
Bookmarks to SD - self explanatory but quite useful
Dolphin Browser HD - A great alternative to the stock browser
Google Goggles - More useful than I thought.
Google Maps w/ Navigation - Makes me want to toss my Garmin. I love how useful this is.
GStrings - not what it sounds like. A tuner for instruments. Pretty handy.
Handcent SMS
Movies - Fandango and Rotten tomatoes app.
Swype
Where

Fun Stuff:
Abduction (for my game fix when on the go)
Arnold Sounds (a funny soundboard)
Borat Soundboard
My Tracks - a very handy GPS that will track my bike route and give info on distance, elevation gain, calories burned, moving time, etc. It is hella accurate and Free on the app marketplace.
Pandora
Paper Toss - another game.
Snesoid Lite - Super nintendo emulator. I don't use it much since the D-Pad is on the wrong side of the phone. What a wasted opportunity for motorola.
