pico peak

powder

had a wounderfull day at pico peak. ticket for me ( with college id) 29 bucks. so cant beat that, snowed hard most of the day, as at some time visability was none due to the fog. spent most of the day, at the out post area. skiing the bumps on pipline, sidewinder and wrangler. not a spot of ice on the mtn. a little wind blown atop the mtn. Also spent a good amout of time in summit glades, 49er, and fools gold. one nice thing about pico peak no crowds, was there sat. an the longest line was a min. at the out post double chair. i was really inpressed what a good job grooming they did esp. with all the mix. percip. we had the night before. this was my second time at pico peak this year, and is quickly becoming top five mtns in VT. i would recomend the next time you are going to k-mart pass the entry road and head over to pico peak.
one side note- i sure hope the conection between k, an pp never happens, it would destroy pico. sorry no photos, not ideal day for photos

Great to hear! Pico is on my 'must ski' list for this season. I've wondered about the weekend crowds and am happy they do not exist.

I'm with you on NOT connecting Pico with Killington. It would end up plagued with gapers. With all the heavily commericalized areas, a few not so commerical ski areas are welcome.

Great Report

Thanks for the nice report.

Where exactly is PICO? Is it on the Killington Access road?

Man.. I just love Rt 100! Ski it's mountains in the winter and ride the roads spring, summer and fall and eat at the diners all year long.

Thanks!!

Right on Route 4. Take a left out of the access road and head towards Rutland. It's a few miles down on the left.
