Slopeside lodging would be great for Hunter and would bring in extra revenue for new lifts...maybe they could put in a gondola alongside the high speed quad..

Um, are you being serious there?

Hunter already has a lot of slopeside lodging, the KMC hotel, and Liftside Condos. If they build in the parking lot, it's going to mean that you're going to have to walk a very long way to get to the mountain, even on weekdays...

More lift capacity is not always a good thing, and a gondola would be insane, the peak can't handle any more traffic, and there isn't even a place to put another lift coming up from the base. The Westside Expansion will have another HSQ anyway, that will be in a good location to spread out the crowds a bit.

Possibly, that's not a ridiculously insane amount of money for the area, considering the crowds it can bring in, the amount of developable land on the West Side, and the snowmaking infrastructure.

It doesn't matter though, I would seriously doubt that Orville Slutsky will sell the area for any amount of money.

I heard Hunter was appraised for under $25 million a couple of years ago. I'm happy for the regulars cause the Slutzsky's know how to run a mountain the right way, but from a business stand point I bet they wish they took the cash when it was on the table.

yeah I dont think theres any way the slutzkys would sell either, but I dont think there is ANY WAY they made $40million even in the last 10 years...I mean pocketed profit after ALL expenses, which is what a sale wouldve gotten them..
