Possibly the worst-run ski area I've ever seen

I didn't know the stats. I wasn't knocking the place. I hit it the Monday after Valentine's day and had to go back on Friday of the same week to get 6"of fresh. But that Friday was spent trying to catch up with Greg, Bvibert, and ALLSKING on anything with bumps, trees, or a lift line. One of my best ski days ever.

No, no prob, didn't think you were knocking it...just didn't want to mislead people into thinking that B-East is MRG on 100% of its terrain, 100% of the time.

First off...I kind of agree with phildozer here. I mean, know before you go. You should have at least known about the tix prices. I have a young daughter and I get on the phone and call any prosective ski area before i take her to make sure it will be to my liking.

I agree with you on this one - ticket sellers are just trying to do their job. If they seem like they have an attitude, its probably because they've already had a dozen or more complaints about prices. Let's remember this - the ticket seller is making minimum wage or near minimum wage. The ski area owner probably isn't driving a Lexus. They give what appears to be full disclosure of rates on their web site and probably do by telephone too. It's a valid argument to debate charging a 3 year old, but you can't blame them for not changing their policy upon your visit.

Imagine if you had paid the $16 (which by the way is a very fair price in the scheme of it - we all tend to forget that it costs money to all people to ski, any age!) and then the next person with a three year old was able to get it for free because they complained. THAT wouldn't be fair.

Now, with regard to madpadraic...I think that most people that started skiing early would definitely continue skiing in their later lives. I have no definitive data...but c'mon...its the skibug.

Well if he was finding dangerous rusty objects in open glades, then he has a bit of a complaint; ast least I think so.

As for my point, I was simply rejecting the idea that the Ski industry is like the tabacco industry and requires hooking kids at a relatively early age. I believe it to be more resilient and addictive than that.

Not that I'm condoning it, but I don't necessarily consider the woods next to a beginner slope an open glade......My point was that there are a hell of a lot of lifelong skiers out (t)here. A lot.

Ahh. Well if the woods weren't open then they aren't an "open glade," as I called it. So if this is the case, I have to agree with you.

As for lifelong skiers and industry dependence, I don't think that our points are mutually exclusive. :)

Bosquet (from their trail map), doesn't appear to have any marked glades, so it's your own fault if you get hurt on something that is lying in the woods there.
