That triple has got to go. I remember riding that lift 30 years ago at King Ridge. I don't think it's gotten any faster since then.
I'd like to see renderings of what they had planned at Ragged for a third peak. I've never seen any drawings. It was only this past winter that they officially postponed them.
Spear Mountain triple definitely does suck. The terrain off it is great, but it's a slow poke for sure. The place never needed a high speed 6, a 4 would be more than sufficient for the summit. I don't think they currently have the skier numbers to support 2 high speed lifts, so I'm not certain what the right answer is for Spear.

Now all they need are some seeded bumps.
Ragged does have one rather steep but short trail that is rather cliffy. I would say that their claim of an awesome cliff drop is actually very factual.... if it is the trail that I am thinking about that they are referring to.09/10 Trail Map Brochure says:
"New at Ragged Mountain are 3 interconnected terrain parks. Enter "Wild Side" and find the bigger hits, rails and jumps. Halfway down and off to rider's right, discover "Wild Woods", Ragged Mountain's ALL NATURAL terrain park with log slides, tree hits, and an awesome cliff drop."
Anyone know what that's all about?

Seeded bumps are for posers.
Seeded cliffs are for posers .
Seriously, thats an awesome park feature. Going to be a sucky landing though on anything less than a big dump.
woods are fun.I'm looking to get to Ragged more times this season...last time I was there was a few years ago, and at the time the only reason the conditions were good was because there was a decent amount of natural snow.
How has the area changed in the past few years? Have there been any lift updates? Is the Spear triple still a slow lift? Has the snow making improved?
