That's it. Its time to do something. I am going to stop global warming by going green. I am turning the Thermostat down 10 degrees and buying a Toyota Prius. Yeah that will cold things down so this rain turns to snow. Who is with me. :uzi:

Look, just move to a slopeside condo with good internet and phone service. Turn in your car until spring. That's it. Its time to do something. I am going to stop global warming by going green. I can't help but to feel this is so "normal" to have rain in January why does anyone need to whine about it?
The snow will come in time for the "core" of the season. It just does.
I don't cry about the lack of snow in July, nor January. It's just the nature's course. (at least for the lower Hudson valley area)

The weather is what it is, so just quit the bitching and embrace what it brings us, or else you'll just be another day older and more curmudgeonly in the process!
Skied from 8-3:30 today with 2 quick snack breaks and 30 min for lunch with my kids - managed 21 runs and just over 30k vertical feet. As I recall there was verying amounts of rain on every run, a bunch of foggy runs, some slick and thin spots as well as a bunch of soft "hero snow" to turn in!
Gore-tex is great stuff, and if it wasn't for coming upon an unresponsive kid lying in the middle of the trail with nobody around during what turned out to be my last run (kid turned out to be "OK" once I had called patrol and they showed up and started working on him after he initially once he regained consciuoness reported not being able to feel or move his arms and legs)
Get out and make the best of what mother nature gives you!!

Pshaw! I'm still getting out there and skiing and don't feel the least bit curmudge. Spent a good day in the rain at Burke a few weeks back, so I don't find your remarks at all empathetic. Not like we've given up the sport. The weather is what it is, so just quit the bitching and embrace what it brings us, or else you'll just be another day older and more curmudgeonly in the process!

seems like an incomplete thought. What's your point?and if it wasn't for coming upon an unresponsive kid lying in the middle of the trail with nobody around during what turned out to be my last run

Thanks for the pep talk. But this rain still sucks.
You make the most of what life gives you!!![]()
I hate the rain as well. It killed my ski plans for today.
I applaud your effort. Turning down the thermostat I don't mind but I draw the line with the Prius.

Right! There are probably plenty of people rejoicing the r@!n and warm temps on FB - we don't need that here!!![]()
. No one else understands our sorrow, so we need to console with our fellow (ugh, sorry to use this term here...) snowlovers!
He was lucky you were there. Any idea what happened?
