i made the mistake of leaving the wet skis on the car rack last night and this morning there were lots of rust spots, even after wiping down.

i don't do much home tuning, what's best? gummy stone or diamond stone?

Gummy should be good if it's just rust. Diamond will help with burs, but if they are really bad you may want to bust out a file.

Gummi stone works fine on a little rust. When it is really, really bad I'll break out sandpaper.

if you don't have any ski specific tools for tuneups. Regular sandpaper will work. Just put it on a piece of wood to create a flat surface. Simple and effective.

A basic edge sharpening tool is not that expensive - get the 6 in 1 tool by swix and it works out well.

Scotch brite pads in a quick fix will handle the rust - after all the road treatments yesterday a tune from your local shop might not be a bad idea either

Go skiing, after your first run the rust will be gone.
