Besides being known for its warming properties, wool is what's called a hydrophilic fiber, meaning that it has the natural ability to positively interact with water. This property is furthered by wool's natural ability to disperse electrostatic charges. So, the jersey will pick up less dirt, grime, and lint in the first place. But you might be wondering, if wool is such a magical fabric, then why didn't Santini use 100% wool? Well, the one missing feature of 100% wool is that it's unable to be sublimated. Santini added polyester to the jersey so that it could receive the same graphic treatment as synthetic jerseys, as well as to add a bit more stretch to the jersey.
The jersey is cut with set-in sleeves for a precise, conforming fit. The back is slightly elongated so that it doesn't ride up while you're in the saddle, and rib-knit cuffs and collar are both non-binding and flexible.
