Thanks, hope she's well for Utah as well, right now it looks like 50/50. I'm probably gonna hold off until the last minute before I make a decision on Utah :(

6 screws in her ankle :(

Oh man..just heard...really sorry.
Forgot how to say get well in polish, but better luck to you both.

Just got home, patient doing well. Stopped at K season office and they will refund money not only for her pass, but mine as well. Stopped at Basin Ski where I purchased 2 season tunes (end of last season) and recieved a full refund on those.

Wow, that's quite generous of K. With all the 'all business all the time' approach they have been advertised as having this year, one might think that they wouldn't necessarily do the right thing in this situation.

Again, my best goes out to you and your wife for healing swiftly

Best wishes to your wife on a speedy recovery. If she sticks to the PT schedule and does the home work as well, she'll have a speedy recovery. The first few days out of surgery stink but the progress will happen.

Incredible Customer Service from Killington to refund both season passes. Burke did the same thing for me when I broke my arm the first week they opened.

For now I left both passes with the Season Pass office. Didn't seem to be an issue with a refund on both passes, just don't have a definative answer yet as to how much I wll be recieving. The lady that took care of me said that she has to check with her supervisor who wasn't in yesterday, but did say they weren't stingy in matters like this. I will keep everyone posted as to how they handle this.

Back in "01" I purchased a season pass from ASC (Took the "early bird" discount option). I ended up needing major surgery just before Thanksgiving (don't ask) that pretty much wiped out prospects of a decent ski season. I requested a refund. They asked for, and I sent them a letter from my surgeon (a skier himself) and then they sent me a full refund. They really don't want to piss off people who ski regularly and who would "bad mouth" them for not giving a "medical" based refund. That would just be bad business. BTW, when I asked the doctor for a letter he suggested I write it and he would sign it. His comment was: "I (he) couldn't have said it better myself."

Now I can see them taking the cost of the first day lift ticket out of the price of the pass and refunding the difference on your wife's pass but why would you expect a refund on your pass? Any pass I ever purchased states no refunds.

I don't believe that I at any point stated that I expected a refund on my pass, but figured it didn't hurt to ask. They suprised me by excepting my pass as well.

You are correct that most passes state no refunds as does this one. However, in the event of an injury, IMHO, wouldn't be a wise decision on the part of the mountain not to issue, especially this early in the season. A refusal to give refunds in the event of emergencies, might hurt pass sales.

I saw Crotched offering pass insurance yesterday. Any pass I ever purchased states no refunds.

Sidetrack, but last year when Stephie had a few really bad asthma problems at Crotched, sat in with ski patrol for about an hour chilling with some oxygen. 2 days later we got two free passes in the mail. Unfortunately they where specifically addressed to me and Steph, who have the family pass, but the gesture was nice.

I never meant to imply you expected a refund. I guess I never would have thought to asked for a refund. But this does bring up a point that when I start paying a lot of bucks for a pass I should start to consider getting pass insurance too.

I expected them to say that only they can only refund for the injured party. When I asked about mine, the women paused for a moment and gave me a look. I immediately stated that since my wife is hurt, we are from NJ, I would no longer be able to ski either. At that point she told me to hand over my pass as well. I am taking for granted that I will recieve a refund for both. However, she did state that she had to check with her manager as to how much they would refund. So, I guess there is still a possibility that mine may het turned down.
