I really miss the Boston Globe snow report.

From what I see Killington is open every day this week...Closing Sunday..Superstar area only. (I plan to ski there tomorrow)

Sugarbush is re-opening Saturday & Sunday at South to include Stein's and maybe some some others. Other party events include a car rally and a great blues band " Detinators"

Wildcat is opening with the Quad only and up to 14 trails (or parts of trails) Sat. and Sunday per another thread in this forum.

Is any other area open? Is any other area planning to be open next weekend?

A couple are open in Quebec I think. This is it for everyone.

Anyone want to wager whether Killington will reopen once the sale is finalized? Could be great PR...

Even after the great spring, the resorts are going to be happy to put this season behind them (financially)... I don't foresee anyone going another weekend...

A friend and I were discussing this season yesterday at Wildcat. Do you think the late boost wasn't enough to make up for a very slow start? I wonder if the total # of skier visits was off this year again.

when you lose your opening weekend (Thanksgiving) totally, and go into Christmas Vacation week with 8 of 47 trails because of dicey snowmaking temperatures, and no natural snow, AND have your hands still cuffed behind your back for MLK weekend because night time temps are stilll 35+ and climbing.... at 4000 Ft..... thats a total of about 75% of the budgeted season in RED on the ledger.

All thats left is the <most of New England School Vacation week> Thank doG we had a dump Valentines Day! and then Spring.

Selling discounted lift tickets in April ( with FEETing dumps of snow) and even into May can't EVER make up for the HUGE monetary losses to owners from early season shortages.

Many thanks to all who got out this weekend, where-some-ever, you got tracks, you registered as a skier-day as late as this season went, and I hope to heck you had FUN were ever you were, because that is what it is ALL about.

Breeze,

Thank you. I guess my memory before feb 14 was wiped clean. I forgot that my first day this year (in January) was 52 degrees and raining.

I appreciate all of the time and effort you put into this season at Wildcat. Until this season, I would ski Wildcat once or twice. This year it became a home base of sorts. We chose to go to Wildcat more for the people who work there, for the skiers and riders there, the terrain, and the overall atmosphere. It's hard to find anywhere else. Many other mountains seem to have lost what Wildcat has. Even in a very tough year you made it very enjoyable for me, so thank you.
