Upper hasn't turned into a rock fest yet!
Skiers right above where Haychute feeds in getting sketchy, and given the temps the next few days, guessing it's remaining hours open this season are getting very limited. The mid section from Haychute down to Midway was mostly wall to wall still with only a handful of bare spots. Rope already up from Midway down.

Hayride for me today was probably the most fun bump run

I thought it was a really good day today. Hayride has been riding well all week starting from Saturday afternoon on,. Lift line the past couple days has been great and nose dive. Woods of nose dive were good up top. Star is losing snow fast. It’s a great way to finish the season with all these spring day stretched in a row….

I was at Stowe the last couple days as well. Seems there was a decent AZ contingent. My first and only visit of the season and I thought it was great. Front 4 from the Chute, many Nosedives and Hayrides. Enjoyed Lookout from the top. Going fast. I thought the woods were better yesterday than today with no freeze overnight last night, but good all around. It was the warmest skiing day I've had in a while today. I don't know why I don't make the drive more often? Crazies here drive 6 hours. I don't like the 2 and a half.

Hoping to see a Bluebird day turn into a Blackbird day for a few minutes of totality on the slopes of Stowe shortly before lifts shut down on 4/8/24.

Other than Whiteface this will be about the closest one can get (highest elevation) to the total eclipse.

I'll be at family's house in Erie which is in the zone of totality. It better be friggin clear that day...
I was on the beach at Isle of Palms SC for the last one (first place visible in US). It was cloudy all day and then a gap in clouds appeared in just the right spot in the sky about 30 min before totality. Felt miraculous.

I drove 5 hours every weekend for 3 years...before I moved here.
5 hrs RT is minimum I drive to ski anywhere better than PA (3-4 hr RT to places I ski there).

When kids are off to college in a couple years I may move to somewhere near where 287/87 meet by the NY/NJ border but still being commutable by local train to Hoboken, cutting at least Catskills RT to under 3 hrs and S.VT/Gore to about 5.

The way I look at it, is that if I wasn’t driving I’d probably be sitting someplace anyway on Friday night after work. On my couch, in a theatre, at a restaurant. Why not sit in my car, catch up on my full podcast line up for the week, and then be someplace where I can ski the next two days. I don’t mind driving. I actually quite like it. Hopefully my back stays amenable to this arrangement over time

Based on your posts, you definitely win for the most committed person on here that consistently makes crazy long drives in search of the best skiing in the North East! How long is Tremblant for you?

I've done a lot of Friday night drives north from work to the mountains or Saratoga. The ride up is never a problem. The excitement plus cigarettes and adderall get me there. The ride back not so much...

7.5 hours in the best of conditions.

but i typically don't just go to tremblant. both trips to tremblant this year i drove from nyc to Plattsburgh (5 hrs), stayed over, then drove Plattsburgh to Tremblant (2 hrs). and on the way back after skiing at tremblant i drive to Burlington (2.5 hrs) and ski somewhere in vermont on the way home.

same if i go to sugarloaf or saddleback. I'm probably skiing somewhere on the way. i like the variety so it makes sense to me to break the drive into segments with skiing and sleeps along the way

i got my car in may 2019 and it has 55k miles on it. not that bad.
