River raging thru town & rising. My season is off to an oh-for-one start. Hope to get out tomorrow for some early spring turns. Hills are still white with something...

from a few hrs ago.... Stowe Police Department / Stowe Emergency Management (FB post):

The Town of Stowe is experiencing some flooding and road closures due to the heavy rain and snow melt.

Current road closures are:
Upper Hollow Road and Pinnacle Road
Weeks Hill Road and Edson Hill Road
Cemetery Road
These roads will remain closed until further notice.

VT108 (Mountain Road) between Spruce Peak and Pump House Hill is going to be one lane due to a road washout. VTrans has temporary traffic lights and barricades being installed.

Snowing steady up top all morning. Powder on upper lord with help from Ridgeview guns. North is run of the day. Deep and well packed. Still a 'loose' surface, makes for easy turns.

Runouts to quad & six survived. Ski on mostly.

Liftline had a couple rivers cross it below tower 13 and below Houghtons. Nothing that a few days of snowmaking in optimal conditions can't fill in.

Looking at the official reports it seems like Okemo survived this in better shape than Stowe, and also I expect is more likely able to make snow more aggressively to recover more rapidly. Thoughts?

North was the run today as well.. It’s amazing how the can groom these days. Sugar snow on most of the trails today. All in all fun morning session. Exceeded expectations.

GS/SuperG laps on Centerline to North were great, early. Perry was skiing great as well. Singles gondi line made quick ups. No slug sightings...
