as mentioned in the Vail sucks thread, here's the article regarding snowmaking upgrades to target early season opening for Main St Race and Sensation.

Not sure if it'll be done for this season & sounds like they're only targeting (the rarely open to the public) MSRace, for the upgrade.

It takes a ton of snow to fill in & cover the stream & waterbars across the lower portion of MSRace.

Hopefully Stowe mtn ops uses the reduced Race demand to blast (early) MS Headwall, Side street & Football field down to Sensation for us.

Hack of a fluff piece! The Gondola has never opened on opening day. It's always opened mid December.

I would have wandered around outside to take some pics...but it was nasty out there..could barely see my neighbors house.
Got to use the new snowblower..

Blowing the mice out of the snow blower. Always a happy time of the year. Where is the line between Cold and Warm going to set up? At this point we don't know.

The new GM, Mike Giorgio, is a really good guy, strong manager, ultra marathoner, Dad of 2 young kids, great chef (yes he started in F&B with Peak @ Mount Snow before Vail sent him out to be 1st a GM in Michigan and then a regional manager of some of their Midwest properties), and a friend of mine for the last roughly decade

Stowe will be in GOOD shape under Mike

Thanks for the info & insight. Note that they took the VP out of the title. Wonder if the former VP+GM title is being dissolved to support the corp savings plan.

A brief article here, with a quote from Tim Baker:

In his FB post, he said it was VP + GM.

Had some fun, and appreciative messages with him tonight. And trust me when I say that if he starts up a beer pairing dinner at Stowe, like he did in the past at Mount Snow, GO TO THEM! You get the chefs going all out and get to talk directly with the brewer/their reps! Us Mount Snow folks still talk so fondly about them!

Here is the SAM article.

Giorgio began his career in the industry in 2011 as the executive chef of Mount Snow, Vt., where he ran food and beverage operations for more than 10 years. He was the director of food and beverage at the time Vail Resorts purchased Mount Snow as part of its 2019 acquisition of Peak Resorts.

Yet another former F&B Manager taking the reins of a Vail Resort. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
