Thanks. Guess I have to try a little harder to find them. Most of the time I found myself prefering the mogul lines on the sides of the trails while my son was skiing the woods. It's been about a decade since I was at Jay, but I used to love their glades like Timbuktu.I find the trees anywhere between Liftline and Hayride to be pretty open for the most part. At least up high. For example the pic above was between Starr and Lookout.
I'd agree with thisMy two cents is that if you take the S-53 traverse and drop in pretty much anywhere, it's steep but pretty widely spaced and not many trouble areas. If you don't like it you're never far from a trail so it's easy to traverse outout
There was one particularly nasty section of, I think it was, Starr where the trees were my savior. Otherwise, I rather enjoyed bouncing down those trails. It is in my name, afterall.I found the trees to be easier than bouncing down starr or lookout.
I did find Christy, and yes that is the kind of spacing I was hoping for. It reminded me of a flatter Timbuktu.Nosedive glades & Mary Mason glades (skiers left, Lower National) are more forgiving.
Also Birch, Christy & Sunrise glades are well spaced, but low angle. They're off Toll Road and Chapel Lane.
Now we need some more!Today was really great. Tons of vert with lots of powder and few peeps. Legs are not yet in mid-season form, but working on it.
Snowing again now... thank a slug!
Finally I did the Kitchen Wall Traverse which was more traversing than skiing.
Between that and skiing Green Beret yesterday, I think I skied the two New England trails/areas with the most AZ notoriety in two days. But no brown snow on Green Beret or skis in Kitchen Wall found.Let me know if you find some skis.
