Yes, and interesting thing is ski buses are nowhere near Fung Wah. It does depend on the provider you choose though. I find New England Snow Bus to be a bit downtrodden but otherwise I've been satisfied with BSSC, White Mountain Express, Riteway, and Nacski. When I took NESB, they were 20 minutes late and the bus was noisy and uncomfortable but word is they switched their bus contractor. Still, the way they time schedules, they don't get to some mountains farther away till 10:15 (Sunday River and Stowe). Thumbs down to that as you don't get skiing til around 10:35 am. Even Riteway and Nacski can do mountain farther away by 9:35 or 9:45 with their departure times.

I'm not that surprised. The casual skiers do not like getting up at 5am. Just ask any of us with a significant other who falls in that category.

Neither does this non-casual skier, but I'll do it if I absolutely have to (operative word being "absolutely").

Yeah; Nacski tested the market out for 4:30/5 departures which did not work. Would've been nice to see that happen as you'd get to Jay just before 9 and still get a full day in. NESB is ok for shorter haul trips less than 2.5 hours each way but it eats too much of the day on the longer haul ones as long as they don't bring the buses back they were using 2 years ago. But even for 6:30 bus trips, waking at 5 am is a must.

Right. Don't want to get on a bus for 4 hours before you get done with the morning essentials. I'm not too proud to use a bus bathroom but I'll do what I can to avoid it. AmIRight?

You still need to get there early enough to get a good seat on the bus so you're not sitting in the back by the bathroom.

If I were younger and single and the only way I could ski Jay peak was a 4am bus departure where I slept on the bus, I'd do it.

Also, I'm still wondering if any AZBoard member was murdered as a result of this thread?
