A week ago we mentioned that following a week of warm temps--great spring skiing from Sugarbush to Stowe and Jay Peak, and then untimely late week rains, a surprise might be in store by April 2nd or so.
Not to go off the deep end too early, but often following a snowy start in December, neither an El NIno nor La Nina present, and other climatological factors, April snows fall. There is some suggestion to me that some areas in the N. Adirondacks, central and northern Vermont mountains and northern New Hampshire could see 1-2 feet of snow by Sunday night-Tuesday.
It's a little to early to say this for sure but this is the way I am leaning right now--that there will at the very least be some fresh light snow and colder temps for a few days...with a 50% chance for a big one.
I normally play things down until a couple days before an event....and perhaps I should quit for the winter while on top, following the surprise snowstorm we forecasted two weekends ago, but I'm kind of excited.
I will have off and on updates every day on the "scroll portion" of the New England and home page section of www.bestskiweather.com
