+1 Glad to see that atleast a few folks in upper management appear to be listening to K's long established core base and using the literally iconic brand recognition that K had built up over the years. And Spin, I'm guessing that your job got A LOT easier with this marketing shift in letting you use the many sheer size advantages that K has!

No way! I love this stuff.
The gauntlet's been thrown. This marketing approach opens them up to a lot of scrutiny. It's going to be interesting to see what goes down this season!

Mid-October snowmaking would go a long way. Let's see what happens. A supe glacier well into May should satisfy many critics too.
I'm rooting for K! Could be the ultimate come-back story.

But no, POWDR wouldn't have changed anything at all that they did upon assuming control. Only would have changed the communication of the changes they made. In fact, they've been the Beast of the East the whole time, but just weren't getting the message out!
Could you guys be more full of shit?

OK Jay, I'll bite. I've deliberately avoided Killington since about 1990 due to the "New York State of Mind" which pervaded. Your note actually prompted me to crack open your website for the first time. I sure hope you've got some marketing dollars funneled towards it, because it needs a lot of work, to answer the question "why would I want to SKI at Killington?" It reads like a 1980s computer brochure where all we did was sell "speeds and feeds". Even your blog sounds that way.

I went right away to find out info about the trails. The static trail map is not helpful and the dynamic link only seems to work if trails are opened, I guess.
So I went to the trail status, and kinda sorta found out which trails had snowmaking and which were tree skiing, and their difficulty. Hmmm. Where's all the qualitative info about this and that trail? "you'll find it all bumped", "this one is narrow and easy", "if you want a leg burner go here". "this is a good way to get to...", "youlll want to check out the such and such summit restaurant from the blah lift." Where is all the info, what am I missing here. Geez, most resorts spend some time describing their trails.
The current site gives me no reason to want to ski there. it gives me plenty of reasons to shop, eat, drink, sleep my way around the resort.
You hint at a new web site, I hope I hope it's not just a re glitz of what is here.
. I was hoping to find a reason to try it again, but if it's there, it's not readily evident. Good luck to you, really. We don't have many mountains left, I hope you can make the best of what you've got
