Jet fans thank the Gints very much for knocking off the hated rival Pats. The only thing bittersweet about that is the fact that the More hated Fish get to keep the "only perfect season" title...

Congrats to the Giants. They played a heck of a game and are worthy champions. That catch near the end where the guy pinned the ball to his helmet will go down as perhaps the greatest catch in Super Bowl history. Eli's escape job to throw the ball prior was miraculous as well. Once that play happened, I knew the game was over and the Giants were destined to win.

So congrats.....

.....as for the title of this thread, we'll have to agree to disagree. The yanks had FOUR games to put the Sox away. FOUR. I'll certainly say that yesterday represented one of the biggest upsets in sports history no doubt. What is the biggest? Depends on where the person is from whom you are asking I guess.

I don't get this rant....

Are you saying we should get back to the serious business of posting messages about skiing and stop talking about the Super Bowl?

NO RANT INTENDED just putting things in perspective .

Speaking for myself, football is just a nice diversion. Truth be told, I can't follow it with the same passion as in my younger years. The free agency era makes rooting for a single team analogues to rooting for laundry or team colors. Also, the commercialism is really making me lose interest, sb commercial break are just too long and numerous. Now a days, I need to be in a bar to see a whole post season game.

As a Jet fan - I was really torn on who to root for..

I thought it was for the Patriots.. Because of the history thing.. But i just couldn't get behind them..

When Belichick stormed off the field at the end.. With a second on the clock.. i remembered why as a Jet fan - i can't stand the Patriots.

glad the Giants won.. Eli was just amazing.. damn...

I'm an Eagles fan, so it was a similar conundrum. Really tough to root for the Gints, as a div. rival, but after seeing Brady ignore Manning's attempt to shake-hands and wish a good game that did it. The Patsies blowing this was karma. Their arrogance finally came-back and bit them in the ass. This loss was absolutely deserved, and I'm REALLY enjoying listening to WEEI this morning.

I cannot wait for the Big Show today!

Typically I'm on the road for work in Mass listening to WEEI. I forget which one if it's Dale or Holly, that has the man crush on Ellis Hobbs. He's been a Hobbs apologist all season while I've been screaming for him to get benched. He's been the one player that has gotten burnt so many times all season. Fitting that he's the one that gets toasted for the TD. That said, it was stupid not to have help over there on them. How many times did the Patriots score on TD's with 6'5" Moss going up for a jump ball when in single coverage in the endzone? While the play didn't work out that way as Hobbs stumbled, I'm sure that was the plan.

Of course, that wouldn't happen if next years up and coming 10 million dollar man, Samuel, held on to the ball on the near Manning interception earlier in the drive.

The Giants were a team of destiny. They outplayed New England and definitely outclassed them. Belichik running off the field with 1 sec left......totally classless, even for a man who is known to have little class to begin with.

Michael Holley. Dale has a man-crush on everybody.
Weird Defensive scheme by the Pats. It worked for 2 quarters, then *poof*

Samuel was absolutely crucified by Denis and Callahan this morning, I think he's going to be their goat.

BB has always been an ass, just ask anyone from Cleveland. I really was disappointed with Golden-Boy though. Looks like Billy's rubbing-off on him a little too much.

Samuel certainly may have lost a bit of money last night for sure.

I'm assuming you're talking about Brady when you say 'Golden-Boy'. I haven't read or watched too much post game stuff, kind of pointless when you lose and just want to put the game behind you. What I have seen though is him saying how well the Giants played and that they were the better team yesterday. Maybe he made some comments that were a bit more crass that I haven't heard?

Actually pre-game. There was a camera on him as the 2 teams were on the field during warm-ups. Brady and Eli were walking past one another and Eli stopped, put out his hand, and you could see him say something. Hard to tell exactly what he said, but his facial expression and body language suggested something along the lines of "hey, good luck" Brady did the Bellichick response by ignoring him and brushing past. Naturally Joe Buck, completely forbidden by contract to say anything negative about Football Jesus, noted how "focused" Brady was. Just watching that made Brady come-off looking like an arrogant jerk.

Hmmmm where were all you guys when the Gmen were 0-2? The only one i remember was Jim G. Anyways does this wipe away 04 for you Yankee fans i dont think so they had 4games to put that away , this was a 1time deal. The Giants just blew up the line of scrimmage and Brady never had enough time , plain and simple. Samuel had that game in his hands if he picks that pass, but give the Giants some credit, especially Eli im glad to see him even if it was against my team come out of the shadow of his brother and get the damn media off his ass in NY. I used to say this alot as a redsox fan, theres always next year. nice job G-men. Well deserved.

Yeah, but I admit I gave up on them around week 11. And I said Eli wasn't the answer to their problems.

I'm happy to say they bitch slapped me and shut me up.
