I believe that someone posted a link to a development review board meeting in which the SB spokesperson said it was permitting concerns and that it was "too late" to start the order/engineering process (or something to that effect).About the NRX, speculation here that it's delayed due to "permitting" issues seems a bit strange to me. How much permitting is necessary to replace an existing lift with a new one presumably on the exact same footprint?
If the new lift is going to be a HSQ, maybe alterra didnt want to spend the money at mt ellen and the "permitting" delay is a PR/red herring.
That lift has needed to be replaced for years (some might say decades).

Alterra certainly has the money. They just got done spending a foolish amount of money installing a top-to-bottom gondola at Steamboat, so a replacement HSQ should be a simple job.
Having the money and spending the money are two entirely different things. Alls I’m saying is it’s very convenient to blame someone else, especially the “permitting” boogeyman. I don’t know anything, but I’d bet if it was the super bravo crapping out all the time, they’d find out a way to get it done.I believe that someone posted a link to a development review board meeting in which the SB spokesperson said it was permitting concerns and that it was "too late" to start the order/engineering process (or something to that effect).

Sugarbush – Summer events, winter preparation. Projects ongoing – Glen House, workforce housing,
Reverse Traverse, updating Master Plan with NFS, 3-acre stormwater permitting. Two lift replacements
upcoming, one in 2024 and one in 2025.
It runs every day once ME is opendoes anyone know for sure if the bus is running between ME and LP now?
Are there any lifts at Sugarbush that are running without any issues?Does anyone know what the deal is with Inverness this year? Semi Tough and Walt’s are listed as open but the quad is not open to the public and has been running at a crawl. A shame since both those trails are hidden gems and a good way to get out of the cold on a day like today.
