A skidder is the weapon of choice to pull strings on anything other than flat ground.

Not saying you're making it up, and I also watched it (for 4 years). My point was the solution is likely not to install a pipeline on the other side of the trail that wouldn't be able to be used 75% of the time. If it's slow to cover then it likely just needs more hydrant density. I also am not sure what they're getting for pressure up there but if it's not great that would also affect output.

I think the problem is limited to that last stretch before the lift. Not coincidentally that’s where the stream from the gully crosses the trail. If that doesn’t freeze up early, it’s an uphill battle.

anyways, look what I found.

They are installing a new lift. With less than 3 months to opening, it appears to be going slow but who knows because the PR people at the Bush don't like to do PR.

So we will see. That is the updated.

Random question, but does anyone know if they are going to put a hsq or a high speed 6 to replace north ridge?

Nah, quads are still in both vendors mainstream portfolio.

Definitely a quad for NR.

Super Bravo is likely the only location that meets the downhill capacity criteria for a 6 at either mountain.

Also perhaps Gatehouse if Slidebrook becomes a dependable option.

Not me that said it. I didn’t know one way or the other.

Sugarbush posted some photos and video recently of cement being poured via chopper. Dopp doesn't usually have issues finishing their projects on time, so I'm not really concerned at this point.
Concrete sets for a few weeks, then the steel goes up pretty quick. Baring some crazy unforseen stuff, this lift is on schedule

I know a 6 pack with less chairs could be better in the wind and there was a podcast a few years ago with John Hammond was talking about making the area above inverness gladed. Def. don't need the capacity today but might need it in 5 to 10 years. It is interesting that they use "lift" and not quad when talking about it about a replacement. Fingers crossed a replacement happens in summer 2025.

Maybe just me, but I think it's funny that they didn't get the liftline correct in the end card of the video. They chop it off to less than half of its actual length. Definitely a PR output.

They used that same design on shirts too...which apparently enough people bought to the point that they sold out of the first batch (personally I don't see this lift replacement being t-shirt worthy...)

Ha yeah lift replacement T-shirts are a bit much, but to have one with an incorrect (incomplete) line is laughable.

Glad the project seems by those more in the know than I to be on the rails. This is a great upgrade.

So before I will say it is on the rails, what is the antisipated/advertised opening day for this lift? Anyone see that anywhere?
Considering that they usually start with Gatehouse now-a-days, I really don't want to be skiing just lower mountain until Christmas if that is the plan.

IIRC, but I could be wrong, the hand over date is 12/1. There’s no way Doppelmayr or any manufacturer would want to work at that location later than that.

Again, flying in towers and all the finish work is a very fast process.

There’s nothing to fret about.

OK. I will set the bar at 12/1 and we will see.
That is 60 working days.
I'm betting that I will be using my K-town IKON pass benefit this year early. ;-)
