I always thought the patio at Lincoln Peak base area was heated but I saw a truck salting it on the web cam today.

That's a problem. Although I don't know how long it would take to install the chairs. Probably a day or so?4:00 on December 2nd and still no chairs on the rope. It would be nice if they told us what is going on.

If the drive is operational and the chairs and the forklift are in the immediate area, the crew should be able to attach all of the chairs to the haul rope in a day or so with the scaffolding for the crew using the powered torque wrench thereThat's a problem. It’s taken this thread 19 years (!) to hit 900 pages so at that rate a little more than 2 years to 1000. The VAIL sucks thread has 569 pages in only 4 years, at that pace 3 more years until 1000 pages. On fun news. This thread is about to hit 900 pages. Correct me if I'm wrong but no other thread is even close. When do you think this thread will hit 1000 pages?

And then it has to be load tested, which takes a bit?If the drive is operational and the chairs and the forklift are in the immediate area, the crew should be able to attach all of the chairs to the haul rope in a day or so with the scaffolding for the crew using the powered torque wrench there
Lol, I made a comment over on the "unofficial" Sugarbush uphill thread on FB (John B is the admin) about "its Sugarbush, they won't open uphill on lynx" and he direct messaged me because he saw my "tough comments" and wanted to open a dialog.I bet by Wednesday most if not all ski resorts that are open will have 100+ acres open. Sugarbush will open with 20 acres
I feel the General Manager at Sugarbush needs to come onto this forum and explain himself, Win would have.
And then it has to be load tested, which takes a bit?
Odds more likely than not that they'll keep blowing wet, push it out tomorrow and open with a nice, ahem, "solid" base for the great season ahead!I was in the area yesterday so a swung by to take a look firsthand, was hopping to see them blowing more than the GH area so they can deliver more terrain on opening day, form what I could tell just blowing GH.
So, they are confident in "Providing an enjoyable and safe product" what is the over under on delivering death cookies and ice & skiing through guns blowing cement?
You’re in the industry. Does seeing the lift with no chairs on it on December 2nd concern you? I would be. It’s a key lift.1 day. But once the chairs are on they're going to need to dial it prior to any load test.
SkiMRV. Boy that’s going back! That experiment didn’t work.To be fair though, for a number of years there was a separate SkiMRV forum where most Sugarbush activity was. Once that shut down, then this thread accelerated as we all just started posting here instead of there. We hit page 800 in early December 2023...so now we're doing about 100 pages a year.
What about the infamous “Guess the Ski Area” thread? On fun news. This thread is about to hit 900 pages. Correct me if I'm wrong but no other thread is even close. When do you think this thread will hit 1000 pages?
Dang. Was hoping to see SB/SF lit up from VH down. Would be ready for weekend, given the forecastLooks like they shut down the snow-making on GH about 8 hours ago. Yet I don't see any other new trails lit up yet visible from any cams.
