Figured today was a good day to do the one thing I always hate doing...getting new boots. Just spent almost 2 hours at Alpine Options. We'll see how the break-in goes the rest of the week.

The bindings on my 2nd set of skis (Nordica Hell n Backs) are also no longer indemnified (I was worried they were getting around that age). Might be in the market for a new set of "mid-winter" skis as I like to call that pair. That's the skis I use in true packed powder or better conditions. Doubt it is worth putting new binding on skis that have to be ~10 years old by now.

He's a good guy. He used to be a manager at Ski Market near me before it went under. In my years going to Alpine options I have done fittings with all of them. I like the service.

I was happy with the experience and time spent. We'll see how it translates once I start testing the new boots out on the mountain.

I hate saying these types of things because it makes me feel old (I'm 47) but the unawareness of the younger generations is very concerning. They have way more tools to be informed and are super locked into their phones yet are completely uniformed on lots of things...

you used to have to call a damn phone number to get the ski report! and sometimes the line would be busy!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I used to call local bars to ask about the conditions. It was way better info. than listening to the mountain's report.

If you don't have them, I highly recommend getting foot beds,... well worth the money!

Worked at SM in Braintree back in the 80’s. They had a house at SB back then. Many a story to be told. Great bunch of ski professionals. Too bad they went under

I worked at SM back in the 80's too! (very short stint around '86) it was a lot of fun!

Omg m'ellen and linky p need to go away and never come back. It's ridiculous
Slidey B as well.
People use the snow report and trail map to plan their day, not all of them have been here. Nothing is gained by nicknaming.
We're not far from Ai becoming Comms Director or Snow Reporter. I don't wan't to welcome it but..

Agree with this.

Were you in there late morning with a wine t-shirt? If so, I was the guy on the other bench getting Tele boots.
