Hawk - as I said, buying QP in advance is something that no longer works as their group has too many moving parts. Likewise, people many states away who may make a trip in a month not determined until a few weeks before are not going to be inclined to be looking at the SB social media much, if at all.

I'll grant the new "reality", I just point out that it has left them pissed off and IMHO is a really stupid policy. I'm not really sure why you are defending SB making it more difficult for people to ski, but ok, it is what it is.

I'll let them know about the TBD, perhaps they'll buy one or two but as I noted, they can no longer be certain who will be able to go (or when). I doubt they are the only out of state who have similar constraints.

You can still buy day of tickets. They just are expensive. This is no different than Killington. And as hawk said, even MRG can’t be simply planned day of as they limit sales and have been selling out in advance most weekends.

You need new friends with a commitment to ski. LOL

All of my family and friends are out of state. MA, NY, CT, NH, ME. They bought 2 TBD tickets each. Several of them canceled several times. I now have a steady stream of visitors because they waited too long and are panicing. You can only lead them to water. It is up to them to drink. Count your blessings my friend. I am getting a little tired of hosting. You want some of my people?

SB chair: They have not figured out the issue with Dopylmeyer yet is what I was told. It's something to do with the electronics. It's probably not going to get resolved this year.
They know WHAT the problem is, but not why it's occurring.

Straight from the mouth of JH:
"the mountain is working with Doppelmayr to resolve the issue with the fault annunciation system. It was reported that the electronics for the system was replaced, and that every sensor has been individually tested, but they can't get the system to operate w/out faults. "

No idea. We crossed paths with the owners and another couple Monday around 5:00 pm in the courtyard, where we found out about the dog. 9 months old, last seen on Spring Fling. We saw the 4 of them on Fling, in the dark with flashlights, looking for the dog.

Semantics. We rode the lift with John Hammond and he said that there is still something wrong with the electronic communications for the faults and they are working with Dopplemayr. If the lift is not working and it has something to do with electronic communications then my statement is true. No? Either way the impression I got was that it may not be fixed this year considering that Mt Ellen will be closed in just over a month.

Back to SlideBrook...I'd also assume at this point even if they fix the problem it won't run. ME closing party is scheduled for Sunday March 30th. That's just over 3 weeks away. Not really any point in running the lift unless you simply want to say "look, it ran this year!"
