If there was ever a time to play hooky from work for a couple of days, this is the week. We've got a big storm that's going to dump as much as a couple of feet of snow in the north country and Mad River Glen and Sugarbush have a $14 Valentines Day lift ticket special for Wednesday. Can't think of better timing than to leave on Tuesday afternoon to beat the snows and then return either Wednesday night or Thursday morning when the snows have let up.

My son and I took some great runs yesterday, skiing all over the mountain, but spending a lot of time on his favorites at Sleeper and Deeper Sleeper. Ullr has laid down another couple of inches this morning and I'm planning to go to Bolton tomorrow, Sugarbush Wednesday and Friday and probably Mad River on Thursday. After all the poor weather we suffered through early in the year I'm as excited about the skiing as I've been in years.

It is time.

My trees/steeps clinic starts in 3 weeks. The snow has begun. It will be sweet.

Will my luck from the past 2 trips hold and give me a few feet of fresh too?
