Cannon - 10:16 update - Unfortunately, the wind has it's own game-plan and all scheduled lifts are on wind hold, including the Tram (scenic rides only). Wow, this winter has been one serious tease. The good news: we've picked up 6-7" of new snow so far, which remains untouched; plus, additional accumulation is possible today. Stay tuned.

Tomorrow maybe the day...

12pm update - The good news: it's winter! The bad news: the rotation of this storm has the wind fired up from the wrong direction and our lifts all currently remain on hold. The Aerial Tramway will be closed for the reaminder of the day along with the Peabody Express Quad. We will take another wind check on Eagle Cliff and Brookside asap.

Tomorrow is definitely the day.

I'm headed up there at the end of the month, interested to hear how it is

Which month? I'm thinking you mean January since there's not much of the month left in December. In that case, if the weather cooperates, I would expect a huge difference between now and the middle or even end of January. With the right temps at least, Win thinks they should be able to get a majority of the snowmaking trails open within a couple weeks.

Either way it'll be my first day out of the year due to various circumstances (mainly weather) so I'll let you know how Killington handled a fresh foot.
Looks like Wildcat did well, Sugarloaf is gonna do well, Killington is gonna do well.

K says 40 trails open for the weekend. And something like back up to 30 today or tomorrow (I suspect a couple more tomorrow).

As for skis, woods, rocks and sticks, some of us are more equipped than others. My skis are '09's and in pretty poor visual condition. Great skis. But if they get busted and I have to get a new pair of Dynastar Powertrack 89's... I won't be at all upset.
Two out of three ain't bad, it's a start.

...so did you place the order for those PT 89's? ;) Latest word on Kzone 3"-4" dry but dense first two runs of the day were good, no freezing rain. http://www.killingtonzone.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41152&p=567156#p567156

Don't expect upper Ridge Run to be open long with only 5". Powerline maybe since it had a man made base to begin with but was closed due to water bars. Lower Bitter might open tomorrow. Ticket prices went up to $86 from $74. Have a ball.

Here in central Mass you could definitely ski the trees without any core shots but I might recommend a pair of ice skates over skis

wtcobb knows how to do the math. I didn't think I was the only mathematician here.

How'd that 1-2 feet prediction work out for ya?Or how Killington handled that fresh foot"?
