i'm sorry but that makes absolutely no sense. river run literally brings you to the bottom of both lifts. Are they including the lift que as chute?????

wow, i thought killington exaggerated trail counts but this one takes the absolute grand prize of all time.

That's what is seems like. The Email I got exactly read, "It will be River Run to Chute on TNF."

Sorry love my pic ) can't find much more challenge than this: :)

Funny story... I think I'm in that picture. That was like November 11th last year right? Man that was nuts. But if you know where to go it wasn't that bad except for that last stretch pictured.

I think this friday is gonna be between Killington and Mount Snow for me. I'll take into account people's TR's too.

OKAY. Stop the presses. I just spoke with Chris at Mount Snow, live on the phone, about this. Here's the deal:

CHUTE WILL BE OPEN, TOP TO BOTTOM ON TNF.

There was some miscommunication in our Email exchange. He meant that in order to access Chute, you'd need to take River Run from the summit. I'm very sorry about the misreading of his Email. I hope this clears it all up.

How's that for drama?  ;)

Which mountain is gonna have the best deal this weekend in terms of trails per dollar? (or dollars per trail) I'm not a big fan of mountains that charge full price for the 2 runs they have open. I want to know where I'll get the most bang for my buck this weekend. I know that it is a fuzzy calculation because I probably would try to stay only on advanced terrain but I'd like to see the comparisons between different resorts.

It's really not hard to figure out but I'm on turkey break right now so no math allowed.

Did that make sense?

Take your meds and try to have a nice day and no, I don't know what color the lifts are painted so you will be able to pick out your ski outfit.

Seriously tho, all the mountains that will be open will not be charging full price but it ain't gonna be cheap.

So you can't get there from the summit without banging that left onto river run from, what is that, canyon? How is one supposed to get back from TNF then? Am I missing something?

no i think it means they wont be running the summit quad. they'll run the shorter hsq that dumps you off at the top of river run. then you lap either canyon/riverrun or chute using the north face lifts.

Canyon Quad, your talking about. OK, I guess there is no top to bottom on the main face then...correct? I guess one will have to hike across the summit and download? Sorry for being so thick...long day of work teaching kids who had Wed before Thanksgiving parties on their mind.

Correct. They are downloading, presumably on the Canyon quad too. I wonder whether a single TNF triple will handle the skier traffic. I suppose they could run both if need be.

With regard to the thread title, the premise is bad.

Taking it form that point, suppose the operators agreed that paying $40 for 5 trails is bad. So they decide to charge $5 per trail. That's a good deal, right? :)

Then, in January, when they have $100 trails... :-o

That wouldn't be a problem, would it? :spin:

That's awesome that Chute is open so early. I think for ripping it up, that's the best run on the North Face, especially if they run the normal Challenger chair and not the Outpost (the one on Chute). Best run open in the east this early I would say... too bad I have been blacked out. I hope the snow lasts to early this week.

Chute was fun yesterday. Not sure I understand why it matters which chair is running though...

Actually that was on the 19th, that was the first weekend they were open after the unexpected October opening.

Its a personal choice for me. I have always been self conscious about skiing under the lift, lol. Goes back to when I was a kid...
