One might think that Vail is interested in selling passes. PCMR extends the season back to what it used to be. The announcement comes the day before Epic goes on sale.
Everything Vail does is decided strategically at the corporate level. From the GM selfie videos to chair sales, events and menus, ALL of it gets engineered in Broomfield.

Serious question. Any thoughts how much/which side will stay open late? Our schools get a week off starting Patriots Day in MA and we have had good late spring trips to Whistler a few years ago and last year to Vail/Breckenridge. So Park City could be an option now for this year.

Usually the Park City side stays open later. Or at least that’s what they normally do…

Yeah I'm here for the Katz memes.

Come to find out attitash with some snow and a lack of groomers is awesome. Never seen so much ungroomed stuff here it's usually groomed flat and that plus the cripple chair are a drag. Bumps everywhere today

Nice old school runs on the old mountain. Good steep slopes. For me, plenty of trees even on the trails. First time I saw a groomed trail, I layed down on it. Umm this is a very uniform surface. Meow, then I got high as I was skiing on a recently broken leg.
Never had a bad day there.

Been there, tibia fracture in the later part of the year…was cruising the Blues within 2 weeks at Speed, however very cautious. Ya, I know what I’m do’n on my weight’n. Lifty’s very impressed as I laid it out full arch with 10” trenches … they slowed & bumped the chair for me cause that did hurt. Got a bunch of “slow down, this is not a race coarse” fuck em, it was empty slopes and I’m the best skier on the hill :) fuck’n vail, the good instructors and patrol know what’s in control period.

Just hope that the führer himself doesn’t see your hard work. Will need a go fund me for the C&D lawyer fees 🤣

He doesn't even know that eastern skiing exists other than looking at the balance sheets of these "locations" his empire owns.

I believe that he was in power when they made their big east coast expansion (Stowe, Peaks, Triple Peaks). Right?
Yea...and didn't he also grow up skiing at Hunter?
yes to all of this. I still say doesn't value it outside of the balance sheets. He or anyone else in charge don't value anything but the bottom line and stock price.

Its the fundamental problem with a giant corporation owning anything

Lift blog summarized earnings call today. Click through to this tweet and the subsequent replies.

Can anyone figure out if skier visits are up or down at the resorts they owned last year? Wildcat seems less busy this year and that seems to be the general consensus for vail areas across the country. I'm speculating the 3.6% increase is due to adding the three PA areas and Andermatt.

Purely anecdotal with a weekend sample of just Mount Snow this season for my perspective. Crowds have been close to "normal" but it hasn't felt like it's been above normal and not as many CROWDED days. Not sure if was related to the new lifts (which have seemed to distribute crowds to different parts of the mountain) or just less people. There have been a few days where the parking lots reached capacity and some offsite overflow parking was utilized, but it hasn't seemed like it was as many days as last season. The few weekend days where the weather was good and it hadn't rained on Thurs/Fri felt above normal, but not record above normal crowd wise. Unfortunately it has felt like there have been way more weekend days just after a thaw/freeze up than not this season thusfar

Wildcat and attitash have been pretty dead this year. A ton of local people and second homeowners jumped ship after the past couple years disaster. I suspect they'll slowly come back in the next couple years. Then again I'm not out on weekends so Maybe the crowds show up then
