There is data on this. Wildcat sent a total of three kids to u12 champs this year. Attitash sent 16. BBTS, loon, FSC and ragged all sent ~20+ kids. BWT, KP, Cran - all single digits.
Works for me. Way less folks at both Cat & AT. Would never think of buying a pass from them. Have +++ Comps for those two and a Conway Chamber Pass

yes to all of this. I still say doesn't value it outside of the balance sheets. He or anyone else in charge don't value anything but the bottom line and stock price.

Its the fundamental problem with a giant corporation owning anything
Spot on, publicly owned companies do a lot of horrible things then claim "We had to". Corp xyz paid $300,000,000, butt didn't admit wrong doing.
And the beat goes on.

Hate to admit it, but I finally gave Vail some non-pass money. Giant soft pretzels we're on clearance at the Sundance Lodge for $3.20 with the pass discount. How could I resist???

Wildcat and attitash have been pretty dead this year. A ton of local people and second homeowners jumped ship after the past couple years disaster. I suspect they'll slowly come back in the next couple years. Then again I'm not out on weekends so Maybe the crowds show up then

Lol, are you delusional? Wildcat is just as busy as it usually is. Can’t speak for Attitash, but I live up here, and ski at Wildcat multiple times a week. All three lots have been full by 10AM the last few Saturdays.

Weekdays have always been quiet at Wildcat, so no surprise there. Where are you getting your numbers anyways?

Again, I don't ski weekends. Got it?

So, if your “data” is all anecdotal, why did you try to make it seem like you know what you’re talking about?
Your data is also anecdotal and snoseek clearly said he doesn’t go there on weekends… Hmm … who to believe about Wildcat conditions, someone with 5980 posts on this forum over the course of nearly two decades, or a troll with 2 posts ?

Many MWV locals have just given up on The Cat & AT. Race teams looking for better places to train.
BW, Cranmore, Pleasant, Black & King Pine ALL ahead of last years #’s.
What locals are you talking to? All the locals I know still ski up at Wildcat, and have been pretty happy this year.

The silver lining here is money being pushed to the small resorts. The small places appreciate the greenbacks.
Have a lot of great memories from Attitash Bear and Wild Cat.
We are all equal in the end.

Fastest growing part of N.H. N. Conway according to Business NH Magazine.

Good for the state, make it in Taxachuesetts spend it in New Hampshire.

You don’t have to believe me. Just came here to question this ‘fact’ that seems blatantly untrue to a local who skis Wildcat 3+ times a week.

Sorry, just trying to match the angst I’ve seen on this thread.
I've sorta stuck up for the cat this year and yes it's been much improved over the past couple. Happy customer here that hopes the trend continues.

Edit I'll add the first time I skied wildcat the bobcat chair was a tbar so I'm not an epic newbie. There's more that needs to happen going forward. Season length needs to improve buy I won't hold my breath

Well I’m happy to hear that, and agree that it has been a huge improvement this year. Still kind of baffled that you think it’s been “dead” this year, and that locals have given up on the mountain. None of that is true from what I’ve seen.

Alot of people I know bounced...mostly people that gotta drive an hour or two and aren't local. They have other places with the same sorta drive. It feels extra slow midweek this. Attitash same.

I ran into an old Wildcat buddy of mine at Cannon on Saturday. He still has a pass and skis Cat as his primary hill. Says it's still much more crowded than the Peak days, but running better this year. He also said the one thing that is noticeable is the additional skiers all tend to be lower level. The percentage of good skiers overall is lower and the result is the trees tend to not get skied out and beat to shit as fast as they once did. Basically said Cat used to be loaded with ripping skiers getting after the natural terrain and I'd agree with that. It always had a very high percentage of expert skiers. But now it's a lot more people just into the groomers, so stuff like Polecat is a mad house.

I found that interesting.

Attitash being quiet mid-week is definitely kind of odd, but Wildcat has always kind of seemed like that to me. I don’t have numbers though, so who knows.

Honestly though, after last year, if I had to drive 2 hours up here I wouldn’t have bought a pass this year either. However, I think the real crime here was Peak’s failure to properly invest in the mountain’s infrastructure over the past decade. Vail just bought the mountain sight unseen, and is dealing with the consequences. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s true at other mountains that were under the Peak pass as well.
