41 years isn't particularly old for a fixed-grip lift--that would make it a 1983/84 install, right? There are plenty of lifts older than that still in regular operation with good uptime and safety records, just maybe not at Vail resorts. Heck, more than half the ski areas in Montana have at least one lift that old or older (I'm not curious enough to dig around the liftblog lists to check other states).In other Vail lift woes, Park City's Pioneer has been down pretty much all season. It's an ancient lift (41 years old) that parts arent available for, so something has to be custom made from scratch.
