Interesting but doubtful that could be a factor here as this short trail runs directly under a lift.Not sure of the environmental regs in PA, but I know that sometimes in VT, and area may "give back to nature" a trail or portion of a trail, if they have plans to cut something new/widen something, as often to create new acreage, they have to "give back" some acreage, especially if National Forest Service land is involved
It’s really a non issue for skiers as it is only an alternate route about 20 yards long at the bottom of the mountain. It was just surprising to see all indications of it vanish.
I asked a patroller I shared a lift with about it and, oddly, she was not even aware of the change.
