On Saturdays and Sundays and Holidays...Me and Atomic Jeff from PASR are usually there by 7:10AM..waiting to be scanned in...we usually get 11-12 runs in by 9:00AM

Stowe also opens at 7:30AM on the weekends which is sweet. I don't understand why some people arrive at the ski area at 10:00AM on a weekend...why??? By then I'm already thinking about Brunch..

this makes a lot of sense. weekends are not when i have to go but when i do i always get there very early and take an early lunch. lots of empty skiing before 10.

When I'm not on ski trips I ski Blue mountain everyday..either evenings Monday through Thursday...Friday afternoons(I get out at noon on Fridays) and early AMs Saturday and Sunday. The times I'm there are usually pretty dead..since the most crowds are there Friday nights, Saturday late AM/early PM, and Sunday late AM/early PA. Alot of the weekends last season weren't even crowded. I skied everyday in February and March last season..a streak I'm very proud of..

While people like skiing, they also want to relax on weekends, so dragging themselves and their kids out of bed before the sun rises isn't too appealing.

Lemme guess...you're single.

On a day trip with the family, if I can get to a ski area before 9:00 AM then I'm doing very well.

I'm single although I might have a girlfriend by ski season..I thought kids wake up early..Props to the parents who take their kids skiing with them...Skiing is expensive just for me so I can imagine you're shelling out serious loot. But at 7:30AM there aren't many kids out there except the race team kids..

so if its the only option and the wait exceeds 15 minutes, do you just go home?

Haha, no...I worded that badly, I meant, I won't wait longer than 15 minutes to ski an area of the mountain. If it's longer than that, I'd rather go over to some other area of the mountain than wait that long for the lift, even if the terrain isn't as good.

A lot of mornings I'll wait 20 minutes, but that's because the lift's not running yet and I want first or second chair. Otherwise, during the day 10 minutes tops.
