"We will be closing today at 4pm due to severe weather, and we will re-open tomorow at 8am."

Good line of storms coming in right now... seeing a bit of lightning.

All ski clubs are cancelled. You think they're that stupid? My school already had it cancelled by 10 AM.

How often does a ski area have to shut down due to thunderstorms? Is that as rare as it sounds?

EDIT: yeah, I know, the pouring rain and melting snow are contributors, too...

It's very rare considering it's rare to even get a thunderstorm this time of year. If it were just rain, I could they would've closed.

LAME..there's going to be alot of pissed off kids..

Were you in the area? There were literally tropical-class downpours when I was out between 3:30 and 5. AND it was thunderstorming... There is no way I would want all those kids at the resort. Moms and Mountain managers would agree. I want no responsibility for several hundred bored kids hanging around the lodge while it poured dancing betwen the lightning bolts. depressing but deal with it...
