Constantly being blamed for scraping snow off trails when the reality is the person whose blaming just can't handle that particular condition cause they don't have skillz yet..

Yeah Skiers without skills are the worst. Especially when they end up on some bump run and do not have the courtesy to look up hill before heading down hill.

What I get out of your above post is....sounds to me you do a lot of weekend rideing...am I right?

riders/skiers failing to look up hill as they take off..... Hummmm, like that Ever happens.....how bout the skier/rider that has no clue what thier edeges are suppose to be used 4....
I would think it would be easer to use only two (one at a time, toe then heel.... VS using two at a time. Uphill/downhill).

what say you, BGA!

Snowboarding is kind of easier cause you only got one board and you dont have to worry about the coordination factor of keeping the skis Parallel, but IMHO Hitting jumps and shit is harder landing sideways.

For me I dread two words in ski reports:

WIND HOLD :x

I remember January 2004, when Sugarloaf was 100% shutdown because of hurricane force winds.

I dread

What I dread the most actually happened:

Getting on the highway after a full day of skiing, totally exhausted. Looking in the rear view mirror and seeing my skis airborne behind me. Someone forgot to close the racks and it must have been me.

True story. The skis survived intact. 2 cars swerved around them and and an 18-wheeler straddled them. Torn ski bag was the only damage. A flippin' miracle.

Can't get good help these days....

That sucks, u were lucky the skis were ok. I drove away once like that, but something told me to stop and check. Fortunately they were still on.

I had one rack pop open, fortunately it was just as we were leaving the parking lot. Whoever isn't driving usually ends up with a crick in their neck from watching the skis through the sunroof, just in case.

I dread rain before a busy weekend closing the hill with thousands driving up from Boston/NYC area. Happened twice at the Bush in the last few years.
AMEN, Brother. The only one who hates that more than you is ME! After they leave you they come for my neck! The other thing I dread is drivers of 4WD SUV's with All Season Radial tires (oooo-ahhhh) thinking they are invincible....

embarassing

It was more embarassing than funny since it was actually my buddie's skis that went landed on-road. Somehow mine were parallel to the rack, ready to fly. We swear by full-cover ski bags for our skis. I bought him a new bag....

Tips backwards, only when not skiing.

One time back in college, we left at around 5 AM to head up to Vermont after partying til 2:30 int he morning (a buddy turned 21). Apparently the ski rack wasn't secured to this girl's Nissan Sentra and the whole rack ripped off the car at 65 MPH. My skis were the longest and took most of the impact. My tips were filed down flat about a half an inch. Still skiable, but ugly. They eventually split the next season. I (somewhat) recall that being the start of one crazy weekend...
