i have been hearing many different things about haystack but i dont no which is right about the mountain.

-is it closed entirely no operations?
- no $$$$ left to operate?
-maybe a buyout?
-etc.

Who knows, maybe a couple of years from now Mt Snow is doing well, the national real estate downslide has cleaned out the bad sub prime loans, the ill planned developements and recovery is happening, I would not be shocked if someone buys the place for cheap and turns into a gem.

I'm half surprised they're not loading up on debt and building it, anyway. Maybe they're waiting until real estate picks back up. trouble with that is, when it does, debt won't be so easy to get.

I checked out the Haystack Club and there just wasn't enough "bang" for the bucks they were asking for.

If the place was bigger (ie Killington or Jay Peak) it might have legs but a smallish mountain in Southern Vermont just won't fly.

Spot on here. Too much for what they are offering.
