Gulf of Slides tomorrow, w00t.
I hate you...

So whos going up, seems like there are a bunch of talk of GoS tomorrow. JimG, NHPH, Sled, powder8s?

I wish the weather wasn't looking so sketchy else I would probably be up there. A 2:45 drive each way to maybe get rained out is not my dads idea of fun.

Geoff,

Monarch used to be my home mountain. My in-laws have a cabin just outside of Salida, so I get up there a few times a year. Did you get to try out the new terrain in Mirkwood Basin?

Snowbasin

Next year Powder Mountain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So how was Snowbasin this year - must have been tons of snow. Strawberry Bowl is soooooooo fantastic. The last time I was there was before the Olympics and they were building the new lodge - is it nice?

If you go to MS without a proper notification to us boys in the South for a meet up, you will be promptly beaten up.

I will keep SB in mind for a future trip. Here's a question...how far is SB from Killington? It's likely we will get invited back to in-law's place for New Years. We won't ski there due to our previous experience described above. Was considering Pico instead (close, less $...more easy terrain). Would consider SB if the drive were reasonable.
Sky- First: K is an hour or just under (depends on weather) south of SB on Rt 100. Second: I may be a noski now, but I actually did ski about 8 times in my short foray into the sport. I learned at SB and only skied there. I found lots of green/blue that fit my ability and was never afraid I would not make it back to the bottom. Also, fwiw, I skied once at MRG (Eric made me) and made it top to bottom without falling or causing bodily harm to other skiers....and I sorta liked it! DO IT!!! :)

Settle down Cowgirl. A little later in the thread I suggested an outing.:flag:
I'll probably get verbally abused anyway. I can live with that.

Didn't get to any new areas for me this year, but I did go to:
Stratton and I had not been there since the 80's (before the village). It was a gorgeous ski day.
Sunday River and I hadn't been there since the early 90's(to ski anyhow)

Didn't make it to Mirkwood. It had gotten wind scoured so it wasn't worth the short walk. Next time...
