Fair points about why the AZ Challenge might not work all the time. But I think we all benefit and those who want to participate will and those that don't are not going to. As the guy behind the curtain selecting the questions to be posed, I will say the more the merrier. I love sitting down and sifting through questions...getting ideas, etc.

Marketing and Communications people.......are people too. :)

Hear, Hear......well said, Friend of Marketing. (I've been in sales for 20+ years).

Hey all - remember that everything starts somewhere and hopefully evolves into something better. The AZ Ski Area Challenge may not be perfect, but it's something and it's getting better. We already have senior-level decision makers who have agreed to participate. It's only our second year of this - how about a little patience - ????? Thanks......:)

Third year, Chile. I see you are having trouble counting

Actually, I was pretty sure this would be year 3, but I wanted to err on the conservative side to be safe.

Point is, the AZ Challenge is a unique communication/feedback vehicle that CAN provide useful opportrunities to talk directly to the decision makers at your favorite hill. It ain't perfect and nothing is guranteed, but it is clearly getting stronger and has more participation than ever from senior industry people. If it is useful for you - great. If not - hey, you can't say we didn't try.

Agreed with ChileMass. We can't really expect the ski execs to give forthright answers to just any ole email query. However, over time, we can build the reputation of AZ as a group of local, loyal, intelligent, and understanding skiers. Eventually that will lead to a better relationship with the execs, and that will lead to better answers and a more sympathetic ear. We may not be able to affect as much change as we would like, we can still move closer and closer to finding a common ground with those who make decisions in the ski industry - some to our liking, and some not.

Sunday River (I want to hear Alex's perspective)
Killington
Pat's
Wildcat
Jay

Would also like to see:
Gunstock
Whaleback
McIntyre (since it is less than two miles from my house)
Saddleback
Cannon
Tuckerman's Hojo's Caretaker (not a resort, but I bet it would be interesting)

I like that idea too; seems like it would be a good one.

Well said. So far this season I think we've had some pretty compelling reps participate:

I can't wait for the responses to start rolling in.

Definitely. Getting Win, who has been fantastic as far as participating on SkiMRV, and the ORDA President is very impressive. Eric also has always done a good job with MRG questions.

Bump.

OK, the weather is sucking for skiing. One way we can channel our energy into some more questions with resorts.

This year has been another success. We have had some great challenges and some new ones who have come here (Bolton Valley and Stratton come to mind).

But there are some resorts that we have not had. [Off the top of my head, Gunstock, Nashoba, Mount Snow, Bromley, etc]. And we have not had Sunapee, Cannon, or Wachusett this season.

If you have any connections with a ski area who has NOT yet taken the challenge, and you want to, feel free to PM me or have the resort E-mail me at thetrailboss@alpinezone.com.

 And hope for :snow:

I'd really like to see whiteface and gore come back. I think that their answers in 04 and 05 were very good and i'm sad they weren't here this year.
Also - maybe plattekill-they seem to have a really unique mountain and I'm sure we all have some questions for them.
