We may have had this thread before, but figured I'd throw it out there to get some discussion going and because I'm Jonesin' for some skiing and snow. So where are you going to be spending this season? Do you have one, two, three passes? Why is that? Is this the same number of passes you have held before? And why do you buy a season pass? Is it cost? Flexibility?

So join in the discussion....

My passes for this season will be:

The ASC Student All-East Pass for midweek, Sunday runs because it is the closest thing to us right now and Ms. Trailboss got this deal (since she is in the working world again). We're going to both be skiing here together. They also have (or once had) the longest ski season...another story. A bit pricy considering that the Bronze is $365 and this pass (no blackouts) is the same...

Burke Mountain College Pass: The Christmas gift from the fam. Means that holidays, vacas, and the occasional escape to the Kingdom are possible!

Full Adult pass to Burke again this year. It is supposed to be recipricol with Jay mid-week again this year and hopefully they will have the discounted weekend tickets at Jay as well (I took advantage of that several times last year).
I want to get back to Cannon this year as well as trying out Wildcat and Sugarloaf. Sugarbush 100% open would be a good time too. Sooo many places sooo little time :snow: :smash: :snow:

I have 2 season passes the threedom anytime and the All4one Bronze from ASC. Pats Monday Race league (not sure if that counts) They do give us kind of a pass.

Reason seasons passes are cheaper.

I went 70 times last year on my passes I think it was $909 all passes and race fee's combined. 12.98 pre day. I spent more on gas than I did lift tickets.

Places skied last season Sunday River, Pats Peak, The loaf,Attitash,Killington,Cannon,Loon, waterville,Cranmore,Brettonwoods.
Once you have a pass you go more often cause you can , you also feel you should cause you paid for it. Both fun reasons.

edit. I have had an ASC pass for the last 4 years and this year will be my 7th with the Threedom I think.

bought my pass months ago when it was cheap ($350). Whiteface of course. The reasons are obvious, have been stated many times before and will not be repeated here.

TB, does that mean we're not going to see you at K on weekends? Me, I got the ASC Silver.

Well, we may be at Pico if there is snow

I'm being a smarta$$. We are planning on skiing regularly at K-Mart on weekends (Sundays) and Pico (Saturdays). I will be at Burke for holidays and other times. So you will see me...don't worry! :D

The All for One. It's cheap and includes enough mountains that we won't get bored doing laps on the same 4 trails every weekend.

Aside from cheapness, I really like how the pass changes your outlook on days with iffy conditions. Instead of thinking "hmm, is today really going to be worth $120 for two lift tickets," you think "what the heck, let's see how it is up there." Many times last year we found something fun on days with generally marginal conditions.

I understand that, last season me and my wife had the All for One and rented a room in a ski house for the season for the first time. There were many instances where a "should we or shouldn't we" turned out being a what the .......:)

Do you ski anywhere else?

Utah and the Sierra.

I live less than 30mins from whiteface. Doesn't make much sense to go anywhere else most of the time unless I'm storm chasin'. Why drive further when the face is in my backyard?

Same here. I'm a little further from the Cat than you. We just put an offer in on a house in Southbury. That might get us a wee bit closer. You can't beat the price and location if you live in CT. I know Greg and someone else are planning to hit Catamount this season. Looks like we might be able to get a little crew together.

I also did the Ski Sundown card. It will get me 50% the Wed. night AZ gatherings.

The reasoning behind my selections are location and difficulty of the terrain. I don't want to spend $100+ more on a pass that require me to drive up to VT. That and I'm a solid intermediate. I'll save those long day trips for when I can appreciate the entire mountain in points further north.

Season Pass

Sorry to say, I decided not to by an ASC Bronze this year. Had one for the last two years, but found that it was not worth it last season. Conditions were too "iffy" during most of the season to make the five to seven hour + drives to Mt. Snow or Killington worth it for me. Considering the price of gas this year, even my 30+ mpg Hyundai will use at least $75 worth of fuel for the round trip (+ tolls for the Throgs Neck Bridge). Very discouraging! I will buy a variety of "discount cards" for places like Hunter and jiminy and look for any other "deals" Killington or other mountains might run. What I really want to do is MOVE to UT. Of course, the housing market has come to a screaming halt on LI and I am stuck until I sell my house.

Sugarbush - two adult passes includes two kids = $449 each for the season
:-o is that their regular price? $900 for a family of four is an AMAZING deal. probably the best pass going considering the mountain, i haven't heard of any non-corp mountain over 2k verts offering a cheaper pass (nh res for cannon maybe, that doesn't count though).
