:-o is that their regular price? $900 for a family of four is an AMAZING deal. probably the best pass going considering the mountain, i haven't heard of any non-corp mountain over 2k verts offering a cheaper pass (nh res for cannon maybe, that doesn't count though).

I believe thats only for Mt Ellen

Warped logic....

....brought me to the only logical conclusion....

Bought All-mountain 7-day pass at sugarbush last spring for $899 (now it's $989-....after sept 20 its $1,259-). I have 4 ski days already in books last spring (I had MRG pass last year). This early bird purchase also had a special "throw in one kid" booster (Usually kid all mountain 7 is $229-) for my 8 year old. My other kid is free (under 7 years old). So we're all three good for all-mountain, all season for $899. But wait, there's more....

I will also get a Mad River Glen $699- adult season pass....which gets my two little guys free season's passes as well.

So we "Ski the Valley" without restriction for $1,598. Based on our loose plans for ski days in residence this upcoming season (we're figuring about 25+/- for the three of us, and about 10 more for "daddy") I'm liking the math. Figure I already deducted 4 tickets worth last spring, too. And since we travel via Star Trek transporter instead of SUV, our gas costs will be $0.

Thank god I'm an economics major, and my wife is an english major, as she bought the scribbles I made on a pad one night "proving" the method to this madness !

Sorry to say, I decided not to by an ASC Bronze this year. I will buy a variety of "discount cards" for places like Hunter and jiminy and look for any other "deals" Killington or other mountains might run. .

You should really consider joining a ski club and getting bulk discount tickets. Log on to the Ct Ski Council site for details. I haven't bought a season pass in years and enjoy the flexibility and low prices this option offers. I ahven't paid 'rack rate' on a lift ticket in years.

Thanks for the tip. I'm hoping that my house sells soon. If it doesn't do so by the beginning of the ski season I will definitely look into this. Do you have a site name or link to share on this? I guess I could Google them.

Clarification: $899 is for an adult all-mountain, no restriction seaon pass for Sugarbush when you buy early. We have two under 12 kids. Two adults = $1798. Each adult pass gets you a kid pass so in effect it's $449.50 per person for the season. IMHO this works out to be a good deal for a skiing family.

I'll be doing the SkiNH passes again this year.

The price of $40 for "bigger areas" like Loon, Cannon, Sunapee, etc. is a good discount for weekends, and at $20 a piece I'll most likely pick up as many Pats Peak passes as I can.

I was considering the Threedom Pass (since I can get mine for $229), but then realized that at least half the weekends I'll be in class, which cuts down on the available ski days. Even still, if my wife and I go 5 times, it's paid for. We're still thinking about it.

I'll be doing the Century pass at Wachusett for the fifth year running.

With my daughter scheduled to be born (c-section) December 26th, I don't anticipate many trips North this year.

I *will* be kicking Sky's arse on the slopes though. That's a Given.

We will be renewing our Threedom Passes this year for myself, the wife (who now gets a college rate!), the teenager and the 6yr old.

Hope we get better snow this year.................

hammer: come ski with the AZ race team on a Monday night. Our tags let us start at 3, although we tend to get there closer to 5:30 for the most part. If you let me know ahead of time I could probably get up there early some Monday.

Renewed my ASC Bronze card so that means I'll be skiing K, Pico and the Loaf this year. I like the freebies they throw in with the card -- Ski mag, free lessons, rentals etc. Free is good.

Contemplating a Mad Card too and may make that my birthday gift to myself.

It's cooling down a bit in Boston and I guess we've turned a corner.

The All for One. It's cheap and includes enough mountains that we won't get bored doing laps on the same 4 trails every weekend.

Aside from cheapness, I really like how the pass changes your outlook on days with iffy conditions. Instead of thinking "hmm, is today really going to be worth $120 for two lift tickets," you think "what the heck, let's see how it is up there." Many times last year we found something fun on days with generally marginal conditions.

That is indeed the ultimate beauty of owning any ski pass.....
