I'm not getting a pass. I go with the school group sometimes. Other times that I ski may be with the ski patrol. I really won't have much time to devote to using a pass. For me it would be a waste of money. I used my Wachusett pass 2 times two seasons ago.

Thanks for the tip. Do you have a site name or link to share on this? I guess I could Google them.

In case you haven't Googled it yet the url is:

www.skiclub.com

That's for the entire CT Ski Council. You then have to join a member club (they're local but most don't have residency requirements). The CT Ski Council is an umbrella organization for the various member clubs. That site will have links to the member clubs for membership details.

They have great deals on lift tickets throughout the season.

I'll have 2 passes this season. The ASC bronze and an unlimited pass for Shawnee Peak. This gives me a good variety of skiing for the money, and also gets me night skiing several nights a week! Feels like ski season is near- 36 degrees here right now! :daffy:

Thanks! I did Google them and found the site you listed. Yes, there are an amazing number of clubs. I will definitely check some of them out. I am in a bit of a quandry because I am reluctant to "invest" (actually spend I guess) any money in joining any group with substantial dues since I may get a buyer for my house and move. My wife and I are literally packed with all our stuff boxed, catalogued, and sitting in storage ready to be loaded on a POD for shipment west. While we could be ready to move in a week, potential buyers will likely have longer time-lines. The question is: "How long?" I will have to wait until the ski season actually starts to make a commitment. I will however check out some of the clubs.

Hi all-

Thought I'd finally post. My husband and I have Bronze ASC and Okemo non-Holiday value passes. We also have 2 shares VSAA for those of you who know what I mean.

That gives us season passes to OKEMO, Stratton, Sunapee, Killington, Pico, Mt. Snow, Attitash, Sunday River, and Sugarloaf PLUS a couple extra tickets to virtually every ski area in VT.

The most days we have skiied in a season was 49. I'm hoping to get over 50 this year!!!

2 and 1/2 months till the aniverasry of the start of last year's opening at Killington. What a weekend that was!!!

Welcome. 50+ days. Awsome. Hope to see a trip report or two.. Not much posted about Okemo here. Some say not enough challenge on the old part. I skied there alot as a kid. Parks seem to get alot of props.

I'll be getting college passes for Burke and Cannon/Sunapee/Gunstock for sure. Also will probably get a pass for Jay too since the reciprocal priveledges with the Burke pass no longer extend to college passes.

Paid $295. for a mid-week season pass for Okemo, Stratton, and Sunapee (Okemo is 5 minutes down the road). It's a great value; last year I skied 40 days.

My husband says he doesn't even like to ski -- it's just that he's cheap and has to make it pay off.

I just purchased my Burke College Pass a few weeks ago. $199 is great considering I can ski between classes. I'll prolly be renewing my ASC All East College pass again this year as well as I'll have my Sunapee/Okemo/Crested Butte Employee pass. No blackouts on all three passes, and I may consider getting the Cannon/Gunstock/Sunapee breakout pass for another $199 if I have the funds. It will be excellent to be able to ski so many mountains without worrying about have to buy a ticket.

Pass(es) Coverage: Mt. Sunapee, Okemo, Crested Butte, Killington, Mount Snow, Pico, Attitash, Sunday River, Sugarloaf, Burke Mountain, Cannon Mountain, Gunstock, and Jay Peak at half price.

I live in Northeast PA and my friends and I are sick of killington because we got the all for one pass the last few years. it is about a 5 1/2 hour drive for a weekend. If anyone has any ideas let me know. I am thinking about the smuggs card, and stowe but they are a little farther any ideas will help. There are four of us looking for a good deal to ski in VT or NH or NY

Tyrolean_Skier and myself both have lifetime bond passes at Killington

SkiDork--explain how you did these bond passes and how they work...I assume that at some point you gave K-Mart a lot of $$$$$ for a project in exchange for lifetime passes...

Actually we bought them from the original bondholders who had purchased them back in the 60s I believe. The interest had long been paid off, but the free lifetime skiing was transferrable. I had seen an auction on e-bay and lost, I had bid up to $6600. I got a call from the seller saying they had some more available and was I interested at that price. So I bought 2 of them at 6600 each.

This was back when the season pass was 1100. Now that it's gone down to 700, it'll take more years to pay off. But we're over halfway paid off now.

Dr. NO from the KZone also has a bond pass, and he maintains the we'll be able to re-sell them. Supposedly there were only transferrable once, but they did issue us a new bond and a new ID number on it, and the verbage still says transferrable. If I end up not being able to sell them its no big deal because I didn't expect to anyway.

It looks like I'll be getting the ASC AllforOne Bronze pass this year. It's just too good of a deal to pass up. From where I live, being able to ski Mount Snow (1 1/2 hrs. drive) and Killington/Pico (2 1/4 hrs. drive) on all those days at such a cheap price is unbeatable. Plus, I'll have a better chance of skiing with some fellow AZers at K-Mart.

I'm not a big ASC fan but if you can't beat 'em, join 'em (at least for this year). In the past, we've gotten Sugarbush season passes but since I've had to rent out my condo in the MRV for the season, I'll hit the southern VT mountains more this year. I also will get another MadCard or 2 from MRG. The free season passes for my children there are unbeatable.

I've joined one of the CT Ski Council member clubs and will be able to take advantage of their discounted lift tickets all season. It cost me $40 to join the ski club and that covers all family members (wife plus 4 children). Should be a great season to try a lot of places I haven't been before.

I'm taking the family to ski Whiteface/Gore over Christmas week so things are shaping up nicely for this ski year. Now all we need is lots and lots of snow!!

06/07 pass(es)...

ASC Silver

*From what they were charging in the late 90s, I look at their prices now as my personal smack in the face, with an accompanying dousing bucket of ice water to the their head....for what they should've been doing from the start. Don't know how these years of inexpensive passes stack up to the earlier years on the bottom line, but today....families of lesser incomes can at least have more of a chance to get out and enjoy winter sliding down a mountain.

This year I'm getting another Sunday pass at Windham Mountain. It's the best option for me when I consider the distance from NY + days available (95% I ski during weekend) + price. Also that lives me Saturdays to try some other mountains ;)

I am thinking about an ASC bronze but I'm not sure if I will hit those mountains often enough to make this worth.

Agata.
