My weakness rears it's ugly head in the bumps. I'm sure it's because I really don't care to ski them, well, truth be known I just don't have the legs for them anymore. I get started and feel as thought I'm doin fairly good thru the first 10 or so turns then, yup, backseat baby. When that happens I just have to bail which really ticks me off so I just stay out of them.

Yours??

I'm a total Gaper in the air and have been for a long time. Oddly, this was a strength of mine in High School, but I've lost my mojo.

Other than that, I can ski most anything with confidence. Don't know if I'd call myself 'expert', but I can ski.

Hear ya, I used to ski bumps ALL THE TIME......I think my lack of interest is due to Greek really not having any good lines anymore. They used to concentrate on them but now it's all about park stuff which is cool but just not for me.

if its anything it has to be bumps but i dont enjoy them on a snowboard. if i have to go thru them to get where i am going it will not stop me but i don't seek thm out.

I have friends that would say the same thing. Doesn't it depend on what board your on???

I tend to throw my hands around when I'm pulling some sort of quick move - instead of relying on tecnique

it might be better in a thinner and softer alpine board. the problem for me is it is in no way a fluid movement like that of a carve. thus being not being smooth which is not what my style is about. smooth riding leeds to the path of least resistance which make for the most enjoyable time in the mountains.

Icy bumps. I can do pretty decent on soft ones(not look good but get bye) but the icy ones scare me too much, so I stay away, so I never gain confidence.

Also spinning off jumps. I am very comfortable in the air, just can not get myself to spin.

Air. I'm just not all that comfortable taking flight. I struggle on steep bumps too. Even on moderately pitched bumps, I have a very 'turny' style. My goal is to take a more direct line and ski faster in the bumps this season.

This is one area that I am loosing confidence year by year. Like you , in high school, I used to float 6' Helicopters, now I have trouble betting more that 2' off the ground doing them. I will drop 10-20' cornices at A-basin, but I have trouble going up in the air.

I'm walkin down! It's pure survival.

C'mon..I'm frickin 6'9". How fast do you expect me to shift my weight over those skis?

Do I ask any of you why you can't "learn" to dunk a basketball?! NO!

I'm definitely not a fan of slow deliberate turns..I can do them if I have to but I'd rather open up the radius and ski fast..

I'm also a bit impatient..like if Blue mountain is supposed to open at 7:30AM and they don't start scanning tickets until 7:32AM..I feel jipped and upset..

If I find a nice run I enjoy..it's hard for me to try other trails and I keep returning to the same run...5, 10...even 20 times in a row..if somethings good..why risk change..plus if you ski the same run alot..you notice subtle differences which make future passes/runs steezier..

Blabbing nonstop to random people on the lift..
