Where can I donate used skis

I usually buy used skis myself so my stuff has had good use. I have a number of skis that I will not ski anymore because I like my latest skis so much. All of the stuff is of pretty good pedigree. Where can I donate used skis so they can be put to some use rather than fill a dumpster? I don't mind traveling to a good program, but I live south of Boston.

Ski towns usually have ski sales in the fall. I know there's a few in SoVT that go through the local rotary club?

There are tons of ski swaps that benefit various non profit or charitable groups. Most of the sales are between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I've done this before. Somewhere hidden in this forum is a thread specifically on ski swaps.

Where do you live? Schools and churches often have winter programs where some less fortunate kids could use your old equipment. Donate them to a ski swap in the fall.

Look, ski chairs and ski architecture is great. I'm a praticioner of it myself. But if the skis are in good shape and < 10 yrs old, consider giving them to someone who could perhaps use them as an entry to the sport. They can always become folk art later in their life.

YES in Boston takes city kids out skiing. They take equipment donations: http://www.yeskids.org/programs/yes/operation_snowsports/

Take a look at Boston's Youth Enrichment Services (http://www.yeskids.org/ways-to-give/donate_goods). Among other things they teach underprivileged, urban youth to ski and snowboard. They only want skis < 160cm, so if that doesn't help you, maybe anyone else following this thread might have some extra gear filling their basement.
