Where would you go to find snow around Christmas? I know most of the places in New England. December is VERY iffy there. How about East Canada? Where will I probably find decent snow in December?

like you said it's iffy. there could be snow all the way down to mass, or nothing at all. but your best bet is to go north, places like Jay Peak, Stowe, and Sugarbush in Vermont, and Sugarloaf in maine. or you could go way north to Mont Sainte Anne and Le Massif in Quebec

Well besides the west- can't go wrong at Alta/Snowbird. I would say the best early season snow in the east is at Jay and north - tremblant and such.
However they are really really far away. Better to save the time and enjoy whatever you get a whiteface or northern VT.

Jay and any ski area in central or northern VT get more snow than Whiteface or Tremblant. Whiteface, at least though, has some very good terrain. I'm not much of a fan of a Tremblant. But the best bet for snow in the east I'd figure is Jay or something else in northern VT.

by decent snow are you referring to decent natural snow or any kind of snow? very important question because my answer would verify accordingly. jay is a good bet if you are rolling the dice on natural, however, don't look for a ton of man made options there if the natural snow is not plentiful, there are better man made options. stowe has a good combo of decent man made with high likelihood of natural. for dependability of man mad, you really have to look at kmart as an option. i don't consider burke a good option. yes, burke is northern VT but it is separate from the spine and gets less snow than some mid-VT areas along the spine. snow making is still being developed at burke, look at last year as an example of december not being dependable, they missed almost every storm jay got and had similar conditions to cannon, except cannon has better snow making (not saying much...). um, okay i should keep it simple: kmart, bush, stowe, jay... depending upon your needs and budget and if you want natural chances or man made dependability.
