I've got a really good feeling about a few areas this season:

Mount Snow: Just getting a good vibe; great PR; Peak's history with Crotched seems to be all positive.
Magic: Gotta feel positive about Magic after reading [POST="171472"]this post[/POST].

Yup, I concur with the assessment of Magic since you inlcuded the words "seem to".

Ever the skeptic, I'll believe it when I see it, but certainly everything Matt's said has been music to my ears.

Def. a good combo there Roark!

Absolutely! Snow for reliability in adverse weather and Magic for.....well, it's Magic. 'Nuff said. And it looks like their snowmaking will improve this season as well.

Gore . . . new park and halfpipe, and new trails (although the lift to access them won't be open until next year, it'll make for some sweet hike-to terrain).

Are any resorts in the east undergoing major trail and lift additions?

Berkshire East...keep your eyes posted over the coming months, I think this coming season could be a gem!

Lets here it. We made one trip to B'East last year and had a great time. I think it could become a favorite day trip place.

Loon is finally opening their much anticipated South Peak project, however, only three trails and two lifts are due for this season. I'm interested to see how things turn out, but I'm not expecting much.

Agree, but won't know for sure until we hear directly from the new owners on pass rates and plans for the season. Great opportunity for Maine skiing to move into the 21st century in a big way!!

I hope you're right because I think I'll be buying a season pass at the BEast this year. I love the terrain. It's an hour drive from my house & it looks like I'll need to stay closer to home this season. Also, my 15-year old daughter will be racing there a lot with her high school ski team & I'll be volunteering to help on the race course so I'll need a pass.

Will BEast be posting updates on their website in the coming months or will we rely on you for the breaking news on developments?

Sweet, Jeff! i love the Beast. Knowing that you'll have a pass might just help get me there more often. the Berkshires are long overdue for a major dump. When they get some this coming season, I'll set my sights towards the Beast. Kind of ironic as I just watched this vid (my version of ski porn):

Sounds great, Greg. I'll look forward to skiing there with you (and others). That video has some nice shots of some great terrain. That must have been a great day.

I had a great day there in March, 2 days after the St. Patty's Day storm. The tree runs were in excellent shape. Tomahawk was one of my favorites that day along with Jug, Flying Cloud & Liftline. I'm looking forward to exploring all the nooks and crannies at the BEast this season.
