Cool vid! I got to meet John Egan this year when I hit Sugarbush Sunday after valentine's day - very cool guy - hooked us up with free passes ;)

And yeah, Castlerock was AWESOME that day... oh man, my legs were trembling...

What's up with you and bent poles? ;)

Weird. This pic looks almost identical to one taken of me this season:

More Rumble love:

Unfortunately, I only skied Rumble once this season. I hope to spend some more time on it next year. I skied it rather conservatively as I didn't know the trail at all. I sallied and side-stepped part of the entrance off of Liftline - talk about psyche out. I'd like to hit it a bit more agressively now that I know I'm not going to get killed on it.

Did you enter from the top or from the cut-in slighly further down (10 yards, maybe)? If you did so from the top, I can't blame you for side-stepping some. There is a huge rock there and it's not an easy entrance to actually find snow to ski. Perhaps if you have confidence and guts it can be jumped.

I think it was the upper entrance. You head down Liftline for maybe a half dozen turns and then bang a left. There's a trail sign right there. I think there's a traverse from CR that leads to the other entrance you speak of, right? The upper entrance is totally skiable; I just psyched myself out. The first skiing scene in the above video is the one I'm talking about. Looks tame in the vid aside from the wipe-out.

Yes, you are talking about the upper entrance. It isn't that it is particularly hard steepness-wise, it's that there is a big rock taking up almost the entire width. There isn't much space to do anything. At least I have never been there with that rock well-covered. The lower entrance I was talking about is where the traverse from CR Run comes in to Liftline.. It's only slightly further down and it basically just puts you in below the rocky area.
