So what kind of discounts do folks get from there jobs. Me, I used to work for Bed Bath and Beyond, got 20% off. Hardly ever used this discount since they were over priced to begin with and I was able to get things cheaper at other stores. Now I went to work for a big finance company and joked that I would get discounts on money :) In reality I figured I'd get nothing. Well, I'm finding I do get nice discounts:

* Prime rate on my credit cards.
* 20% off on my cell phone bill
* Discounts on cars
* Airlines
* Hotels

Just scratching the surface and still looking into what else I may get. What do others get?

All parts at garages cost, free use of the shop anytime for my own and friends repairs. No money making jobs on the side though.

Nothing for me as I'm a public employee, but the other half works for GE Healthcare and gets a buttload of discounts on GE owned products or services. I knew GE was big, but wow.

I work for a rather large company (up there with GE) and we get discounts on all sorts of stuff that they make. The discount varies from a discount off retail to list, maybe even below list price on some stuff. We're talking appliances, lighting fixtures, tools, etc.. We can also get discounts on computers and I'm getting 20 something percent off of my cell phone bill.

My part time job I get like 10% off of food in the lodge, some discount at the ski shop and rental shop, and I'm supposed to be able to get proform on some stuff. Of course I get a free pass too, which is the main reason to work there.

What about health ins? I am sure some of you get a % paid for. Since I work for myself I am always jelous of those who have it paid for.

I get health insurance but it doesn't cover dental and vision which I use the most..but when I hurt my arm and went to the ER...the $900 bill was covered and the Vicoden were only like 10 bucks..:p

I just look at that as part of my overall compensation. I think I pay about 15% or so now...I used to pay nothing a few years ago.

I work for a small company...the only discounts I can get would be for health clubs through my HMO. We do get free lunches on occasion, and at least I don't have to pay into a coffee club.

I think I pay 30% of the premium. Includes vision. Dental is separate, but fairly cheep.

I've never considered that a discount, though I guess it kind of is. We pay around 25% for just health insurance, no dental or vision and it isn't really all that great. I'm glad I don't have to foot the whole bill though...

My real job: nothing really to write home about... ($10 coupon for Office Max... Yaaaay!!)

My part time job:
-35-50% of merchandise
-free rentals
-fully stocked bike tech area which I can use for my bikes
-2 free kayak, rock climbing, ice climbing/winter (which I used to take my Avy 1 course this year) a season - so 6 free lessons a year.
-swag once in a while
-pro-deals and specials from manufacturers
-deals on skiing vary from ok to free, depending on the mountain

And all I have to do is deal with whiny customers looking for "the North Face" jacket.
