Perfect ski day (I mean just the way YOU like it) and you’re just getting started. You see someone who has yard saled, however, they are up and around, but in distress. Can’t get ski on, equipment all over, etc. Do you stop and assist or ski on.

I stop and assist.

Yes, I stop and assist.
You never know when it'll be you who needs help.
I had one nasty spill last year at high speed and I slide quite a ways down the trail before stopping. One of my skis was a good 100 feet up the trail. Some nice person stopped and carried it down to me saving me the walk up a very steep trail.

Once I yardsaled badly over a rocky and icy section of trail I had not seen coming because of heavy fog.

This guy went out and got one of the pieces stuck in the middle of the ice/rocks... skied down to me and said "I ruined my skis to get that for you".

In that case, I would've preferred he just not help at all, continued skiing, and hit a tree.

And to answer the question... yes. Because I really do want to help.

Yes, but are you wearing a yellow jacket at the time, or not?

And, if not, are you really just trying to sell them some new Nordicas?

If the person is not hurt, NO STOP.

If they are laying in pain, go right to person skip picking up equipment, and stop........

Yup... If not hurt... Pick your shti up and get out of the way..

Learning how to clean up your own yard sales is part of learning to ski..
I'm brutal like that...

lol your funny Doug

It's the truth...

I've yelled at people at Tucks that lose a ski in the Chute and slide all the way down..
I yell for them to start climbing and get their stuff... Instead of expecting someone to do it..

As far as inbounds.. Big deal.. they'll figure it out... If their not in danger then they should use the experience for the future... Especially if they're on terrain thats over their head... You take the risk... Deal with it...

Not sure why people that know my name use it on a board... if i wanted people to use it - I'd wouldn't use my initials...

No matter what jacket. I figure I treat people the way I'd want them to treat me or someone I cared about.

I don't have to sell them they sell themselves. You know that.;-)

I'll grab their gear and hand it to them..then proceed with my run..

I help skiers who have yard sales because I feel it's good Karma but if they're so shitty that they can't get back into their gear..then it's the ski patrollers responsibilty..

If I'm wearing my instructor jacket, I Stop.

If not, I just keep on going (if they aren't hurt). Especially if by "in distress" you mean "can't find a ski under 2 feet of powder." I'm not about to open up a 15 minute search for some moron's K2 MSLs.
