I don't mind cleaning up a yard sale if it won't slow me down to much. That helpless look of the skier downhill separated from his/her gear is enough to get my help plus it gets them out of the way quicker

If they're not hurt, unless it's something that will be impossible for them to get back on their own. (Say, one ski, 200 feet back up the trail), I won't stop.

If they are hurt, I'll stop and do whatever they need help with to get down the hill or I'll get ski patrol.

I've had to tell a few beginners on the bunny hills after they've lost a ski that they have to push their binding back down on their ski to get their boot back in it,

It's the truth...

I've yelled at people at Tucks that lose a ski in the Chute and slide all the way down..
I yell for them to start climbing and get their stuff... Instead of expecting someone to do it..

As far as inbounds.. Big deal.. they'll figure it out... If their not in danger then they should use the experience for the future... Especially if they're on terrain thats over their head... You take the risk... Deal with it...

Not sure why people that know my name use it on a board... if i wanted people to use it - I'd wouldn't use my initials...

Doug!

I thought that was you, but now that I know for sure, based on your FIRST NAME, I might actually be able to make contact.

Don't be a stanger.

( Sorry, it's Althia Gibson (sp) night at the Open. It always gets me a little giddy. )

It depends on the jacket I am wearing. If i am wearing a personal jacket I will not stop, if i am wearing a ski school jacket I might stop, patrol jacket = always stop.

You yard sale and skis are up the hill, Ill grab them for you. You take a hard spill and look shook up a bit Ill just check real quick to make sure you are good the get patrol if you are not. If you are are just not able to put your ski back on, o well you will figure it out eventually.

*All bets are off if i can tell you are a hot female:snow:*

Thank you Greg by the way for bringing my skis down most of Claires last year:lol:

Help out others, and when you need help it will often happen.

I'm surprised at the amount of "stop and help - no question"'s. I thought it was just me who did that stuff. I used to work at a hill so I just never got out of stopping to help. Depends on the situation though, If the person is fine and knows what they're doing, why bother. If it's a beginner who I saw 10 minutes ago on the lift on the way up, STILL trying to get their foot into a CLOSED binding as I'm on my way down, I stop and help for sure. I really don't know if there are an excessive amount of STUPID people in this world, or if they're just all beginner skiers. It blows my mind how many people you see doing the ole "why won't my boot go into this closed binding" routine! lol

If I'm able to help, I will. If I can tell they're fine and actually a good skier (and are insulted by having just yardsaled), I'll leave them alone and save them additional humilation.

Perfect day means lots of pow to me. Not stopping to help unless someone is seriously injured. On my perfect days, there are lots of people flailing around after a yard sale or a wipe in the deep.

If I see equipment up hill and the skier/rider is down hill, i'll pickup it up and bring it down to them and ask if they are ok.

If someone has a yard sale and I am above them I stop and pick there stuff up. If they are not hurt and there stuff is above me they can walk up and get it.

If someone skis right past someones equipment on purpose those are people I probably wont get along with.

Here is a story, I was in Ravens haven at whiteface. There was a decent amount of powder and i came across this kid about 14 or so. Pudgy. he was facing head down with his up above him. Squirming like a turtle on his back. I gave him instructions as to how to do it but would bot help. He was sweating like mad almost to the point of crying. He got out and sarcasticaly told me thanks for the help. He does not know how much I helped him

I will stop and try to help. If their stuff is scattered above me, they can walk for it. But I will pick up stuff on my way down to them if they appear unhurt.

Good to know... Have a nice life !!!

I see no reason to stop unless someone is hurt.. Learn to deal with your equipment.. Or learn to snowboard so you don't lose equipment..
