how would I know if the snow boarders down or not? There always sitting all over the place anyway! ;-)

I always stop and help regardless if it's a snowboarder, skier or blader ( I do all 3).

Unfortunately there is video of me crashing and andyzee skiing up with one of my boards. It would have been rude of him not to stop since it was his fault in the first place.

I always stop and help. Walking up hill at a ski area is another form of the walk of shame. People have helped me out and I will do the same to those in need.

PS - andy, if you post said footage, please used the clipped version. I can't stand to watch those horrible turns leading up to the crash.

Perfect day means lots of pow to me. Not stopping to help unless someone is seriously injured. On my perfect days, there are lots of people flailing around after a yard sale or a wipe in the deep.

Exactly...if you stopped at every wreck you'd spend your whole day doing it. If someone is injured, the most helpful thing I can do is haul ass down and alert ski patrol...I'm no EMT. If someone in my group yardsales, I'll help them out...for the greater good.
If its your average day, I'll almost always help out...unless its some wing nut who was completely out of control and blew up...he needs the time to chill.

Good to know... Have a nice life !!!

I see no reason to stop unless someone is hurt.. Learn to deal with your equipment.. Or learn to snowboard so you don't lose equipment..

I am sure you are not as big of a lob that your post indicate but really, all skiers/boarders are out there to have a good time. To take 30 seconds out of your day to help someone is not that hard to do.

I am actually having a ton of fun...

i say let them learn how to be self sufficient unless they are hurt...

Why is that such a bad thing?

My kids too. Two of them are now adults. I never told them they should, I like to think that it comes from them being good hearted and maybe from seeing me do it.

I'm good hearted... I've carried people down Tucks on a liter that were injured... I'd help anyone that's injured..

But if it just a yard sale... Your on your own...

No friends on a powder day unless seriously injured.

They'll know where i will be and will catch up eventually.

I'm not saying I'll clear the snow off the bottom of their boot, wipe their goggles, hold their hand, and give them a drink from my camelbak...but if their ski, pole, whatever, is uphill of them and downhill of me, I'm gonna grab it and drop it in front of them...I might even slow down in the process...but then its off to the lift and they'll catch up. Cell phones...love 'em or hate, help keep friends together on these days...don't need to wait at the lift or up top, just call 'em, give them the next trail and away you go.

You seem to be getting defensive, but as far as I'm concerned you don't need to be. I and others see things differently that's all.

Quick example - Last season I saw a young lady fall on Lower Skyward at WF. Conditions where not great that day and she slid into the woods. When I went over to her her eyes where tearing up and I could tell she was scarded.

She told me she was over her head on this black trail, had fallen several times, and had lost her friends. She was having a bad day.

I helped her up, helped her get her gear back on cause she was shakey. I asked her if she wanted me to stay with her and she said yes. I got her down to the mid lodge where she found her friends. She was happy and grateful, I felt good about helping someone out, and the whole thing only took about 20 minutes.

If it was my wife or daughter I know I'd be grateful if someone took the time to help them.

That wasn't the premise of the thread...it was "your idea of a perfect day" I think 99% of us on this forum would help out if we saw someone slide into the woods. Can't change the rules this many posts into it!

I've climbed into the woods to help someone..
