Although it rained at elevations below Highmount, it was all wet snow out on the hill. The entire mountain was covered in 1-1 1/2" of cream cheese which made conditions very edgeable and consistent. Bumps on Yahoo, Belleayre Run, Tongora and Winnisook were awesome. Still waiting for trees to open up north in VT, but I was not bored yesterday so back to Belle tomorrow.

Great weekend at Belleayre.
Sat. was good, Sunday was less good, Monday was fantastic. Probably 8-9" when it stopped snowing. 5-6 fo first chairs....
And it was good that it had some moisture and density because there was ice under. Lighter snow would have been scrapped and blown off in no time.

Missed the skiing Monday but there was plenty of powder left over on Tuesday to make Belle ski great. Yahoo in particular had many untouched lines. Quite a few of the naturals were very skiable, trees still too bony for my tastes. Wednesday was more of the same with an additional 3-4" of fresh.

24) 01/29/23 - Stratton, VT - i had a fun morning ripping around stratton with some friends who are great skiers. got after it. woods were wayyy better than i expected them to be. totally skiable with pretty good coverage. any thing that had been skied already was fine. untouched was locked up. a hot 20k from 8:30 - 12 and home by 4:30. love the easy sunday drive.
next weekend looks problematically cold, at least on saturday. looks like it will be a sunday only sort of weekend. the weekend of the 10th i am staying home, and i'm off to the west on feb 17. so next sunday will be day 25 and i think a fair halfway point for the season with the big trip looming. getting very stoked already.

16. January 29, 2023 Magic - a bit crispy this morning as expected. still good coverage overall.
groomers were great. took a hike early and then took some morning laps with the wife. I heard it softened a bit later on
